HOW TO VERIFY DATE OF MANUFACTURE ON MODEL 700

Winchester model 70s in 1964 started with sn 700, one has been fired but need to 36699. 06, 12 serial number 1 - 20 guage for models which have a 5 digit serial number can anyone tell me what year. Date manufactured in advance, made a pre-64 model 70 is this ramp because of manufacture by serial numbers prior.Feb 5, 2019

he Model 6 Rolling block was made from 1901 to 1933.
rifles manufactured after 1921 will have a date code consisting of 2 letters stamped on the left side of the barrel near the receiver.

Remington serial number records are not publically available to determine a date of manufacture some old gunsmiths have the info but are not publishing it publically ie the internet.

Contacting Remington Customer Service with the serial number is the best way to verify date of manufacture and will also provide you with information as to exactly what model / version your firearm left the factory as.

Look for the date codes on the left rear section of the barrel. It will be two letters. One is the month and the other is the year.

Most motorcycles, including Yamaha, have a model tag on the steering head portion of the frame under the handle bars. It will include the year as well, or the date of manufacture. If the date of manufacture was in the fall of the year, the model year will be the year after the date on the tag. For example, if the date of manufacture was 11/2005, it would be a 2006 model. If the tag is missing, the VIN number is stamped into the frame in that area as well. Write it down and call the dealer parts counter they should be able to give you year make and model from the number. Good luck!
