SOURCE: LG wash machine # wm 2277 hb front loader display flashes LE wont

We had the OE message come up and did the above procedures...that didn't fix it. I removed the dual pump modules (they come off in one piece...one is the recirculating pump, the other is the drain pump). Turns out, the drain pump impeller design sucks. Even though it turned when I put power to the pump, that doesn't mean your pump isn't bad. Once it is under load pumping water, the impeller can slip where the pin connects to it from the motor. We replaced the motor for $60 and that fixed the problem. Our unit is at least three years old and we have a family of four, so it does get used quite often. Nobody told us about the filter at the bottom of the unit and I figure if we knew this ahead of time, we probably could have avoided the impeller issue...but it is still a sub-par designed motor/impeller. The new one I ordered looks like an updated design so I don't see this happening again. It is quite easy to remove and replace the pump, btw.

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

You can start with cleaning the drain filter pump assembly located inside the front bottom panel of the washer. After it's cleaned and the problem is back then replacing the control board is recommended repair. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

May tag front loader has loose screws behind doors

Did this problem recently start is the model number I am reading correct MFW9700 front loaders are hard to unbalance due to the fact the control will stop the spin and reverse direction in an effort to redistribute the load on a concrete floor which is smooth the high RPM's in spin will cause it to walk I have seen more broken counter weights than a broken shock this will definitely cause it to shake like crazy again my thought process is that the machine has previously worked in the same location

My brand new Whirpool front loader 1073DD makes a high pitched whistle when starting to spin and spinning, is this normal?

That actually is a normal sound, The machine is spinning at such a high speed rpm that a whistling noise is a common occurence.

Maytag MTW5770 TQ model. 3 years old. You have to drop the lid hard or push on it to get the machine to recognize the lid is 'closed' and can then start the agitation and rest of cycles. It does...

Some of them have a mercury switch that has been bent so it doesn"t make good contact with the liquid mercury. If you can find it you can bend it back. It has to be on the door or an arm under the door or door hinge.
If you know how, you can raise the washer top using a flat knife type of tool to move springs thru the gap between the washer top & the lower front piece. (assuming it's a top loader)
In a front loader it's still near the door.

Our machine will no longer spin .

IF YOUR MACHINE RUNS FINE UNTILL IT GETS TO THE SPIN CYCLE OPEN THE DOOR IF IT'S A TOP LOADER AND TAKE A SMALL SCREW DRIVER YOU WILL SE A HOLE WITH A SWITCH LIKE AREA PUSH DOWN ON THE SWITCH AND SEE IF THE DRUM STARTS TO TURN AND SPIN THIS IS A SAFTEY SWITCH SO THE LID HAS TO BE CLOSED FOR THE SPIN CYCLE TO START. IF IT'S A FRONT LOADER THERE ARE MORE SWITCHES AND SAFTEYS AND WOULD HAVE TO LOOK ON LINE FOR YOUR MODEL

Which is better a top loader or front loader washing machine?

Front Loading Washing Machine: Fully automatic.
1. Better washing than toploading as technologically proofed.
2. No extra effort except putting cloths and detergent inside.
3. No need to observe in between while washing. Start and forgot. You can go market and come back.
4. No issue if electricity or water went out during washing.
4. Take more water compare to toploading semi-automatic.
5. You can not open it once it started.

Top Loading Washing Machine: Semi
1. Save water and detergent.
2. Need extra effort to put the cloth from one box to another.

Machine over fills with water and will not agitate

If the washer overfills, it may be something as simple as a detached or broken air hose on the pressure switch. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r762094-washer_overflows

The pressure switch on top loaders is located behind the load level selector knob on the operator console. The pressure switch on front loaders will be located inside the cabinet, usually mounted along the back interior wall. In the case of certain Maytag front loaders, the pressure switch is actually located under the tub. The principles of operation on all of them is the same, though. They all have an electrical connection and an air hose that detects the pressure from the tub as the water level rises.

If the pressure switch is not able to detect the water level properly, it will not shut off and the washer will never begin the wash cycle. Instead, you get a tub overflowing on your laundry room floor.

Read through the link provided and let me know if you have any questions. I hope this helps you.

NOTE: Another source of an overflow could be the water inlet valve. This is usually a slow fill fill that you find when the washer is sitting idle over night. A quick test to determine the source of the problem is to unplug the washer. If the water stops - pressure switch. If the water continues to fill - water inlet valve.

Let me know what you find...

Push start different sound water may start may not start pause

I would check to make sure the connectors to that door lock are all connected. If they are it's probably the lock/switch mechanism itself. Wow I just checked and they are about $120. The p/n is wh10x10006 You can google around for the best price. Good luck!
