It would not go into any other cycle
SOURCE: eaton viking dishwasher
it may not be the pump.if it leaks when you run a wash cycle then the pump seal may be bad but if it only leaks when you drain it,it seems that its a drain hose/piping connection.
SOURCE: Viking dishwasher that does not stop draining
I have the same thing, unit pump keeps running, when I pulled it from under the cabinet, if you tilt it back a little it stops, as soon as you lower it back down the pump starts to run again. Getting code as too much water in the tank even though it is empty. PLEASE HELP!!!!!
SOURCE: Bosch SHX33A runs continuously. Never finishes cycle.
I have a guide here to walk you through the process of clearing the drain system. You most likely have a clog somewhere and the dishwasher can't proceed because it would cause it to flood.
SOURCE: I have a Bosch Dishwasher,
First thing you may want to check is the door switch. You can pull it off and measure the resistance with an ohmmeter. If you get good reading while pushed in and none while switch button is released, then it is a good start.
Next, you may want to test the timer's resistance. and make sure is operating correctly. After that would be the thermostat. (2) Hi-Level Thermotats resistance and then the Heating element.
The heater should measure much higher than 1 ohm.
A 1 ohm heater would use 120 amps which is way too high.
Make sure you remove at least one wire from the device you were measuring just to ensure you do not measure an alternate path.
The thermostat contacts should close at 161 F, this tells the unit that
the water is hot enough to proceed with washing. Bypassing it so the
unit thinks it is full of hot water should not cause a problem.
But it does not rule out other parts.
A crude way of checking it would be to remove it and heat up the face
with a soldering gun while measuring the resistance. It should close
once it gets hot. Unfortunately this does not tell you at what
temperature it is closing.
You can also try to by-pass the thermostat and see if the machine runs a full cycl.
the culprit has been known to be the Selector Switch.
SOURCE: drain pump won't turn off
Hi,
The reason the drain pump continously runs is because it is trying to remove any water too avoid any further flood as there is a flood in the base of the unit which activates the float switch and constantly activates the drain pump until the water has gone. Isolate the unit at the power switch and remove the bottom panel under the door panel. Dry up the water as best possible with a towel. Run the unit again and check for any water leaks. You may just have over sudded the unit with too much detergent. Only use 2 teaspoons of powder. To start with while testing don't use any detergent. Good luck
Hope this helps.
