My parmak 6 fence charger quit charging. I replaced the battery; still no charge. It is only 3 years old. Is there any other things I should check before replacing the whole unit?

If there is high voltage (same as when purchased), the problem is with the fence. In this case, it could be a broken wire, a bad splice joint, or anything that is not allowing voltage through. If the charger is clicking and there is low voltage, or if it turns on and won't click, there is a problem with the charger.

How long does it take to charge battery in solar fence charger?

    1. A solar powered electric fence energizer usually contains a battery for energy storage. The solar panel collects the energy from the sun and charges the battery. Lead acid batteries, which are used in solar fence chargers, typically last around 3 years, or around 1,000 days of charging.

I have Parmak S.E.3 fence charger, it's send energy out into wire but not enough to shock cattle, the unit is around a 7 acre field with 2 lines, what could be the problem?

Grounding is very important for an electric fence, especially in dry soil. I normally drive 2 or 3 - 6 foot long ground rods 10 feet apart then join them all together and run that to the charger using double 14 gauge or 12 gauge copper wire. You can get the roda at Tractor Supply.

I have a paramark solar charged fence model number df-sp-li it dosen't click anymore how come? Is the click important

The click is the transformer carrying current. If the unit doesn't click, unhook the fence from it and turn it on. If it starts clicking it is a short on the fence. If it doesn't then the unit is not working. contact parmak and they can service it or sell you a replacement circuit board which is the most common failure.

Parmak 6 is showing the volt red line is pass the green charge line and it doesn't have a good charge, it's very weak and everything is clear - nothing touching the wire.

I would first start with the battewry, 2 year run on battery is pretty good. You can go online and find replacement batteries or go to place of purchase and check with them.

No charge, is it battery or solar panel, how do I tell

if the unit is not produceing a charge during daylight then it is the unit. the DF-SP-LI will produce full power under sunlight alone. test the unit with the fence unhooked.

Need battery

We have one of these, it's great.

See these links:

I would try removing the battery and charging it with a proper low-amperage charger (1 amp). Your battery will either be 6 volt or 12 volt, just be sure the charger matches.

Also check the ground rod and all wiring connections.
