Check oil level and if ok, disconnect oil sensor and see if you get spark. If still no spark gain access to the ignition module kill wire, disconnect and check for spark.

If it has no spark, you need to check the ignition system for faults. Check for loose or broken wires, a faulty magneto and a faulty ignition switch.

It's normal for the cat to get hot - given they've replaced everything (just about) that could cause your problem - they have not looked at the injectors and O2 sensors. If you had something burning in the engine bay it was most likely electrical and you should look for burnt wires. You probably have a short in the ignition system or fuel injector wire harness. It's nearly impossible to diag a problem like this without having the car first hand. It must be throwing check engine light codes. Get the codes and post them. Also try a different shop at this point.

SOURCE: 97 Toyota Caldina starting problem

you could have a bad cylanod in your starter that's what is sounds like or you might need a new starter sence you have looked and tested everything else that's the only other peice of resenable equitment left and if thats not it you could try the O2 sencer in the car if that's bad or going out it will make a car act that way. if that's not it then your problem, lys in the corb. but i would try the cylanoid in the starter first and work your way up from there

What do u do when spark is weak on Yamaha blaster

Check battery voltage, remove spark plug suppressor cap from HT lead and see if spark is good by holding lead in a gloved hand and placing the lead end near the engine. If spark good get a new suppressor cap. Check the plug shows a good spark in the new cap by holding the screw thread to the engine. Poor spark change spark plug. If you get a poor spark from the HT lead then get the ignition coil checked.

Car wont start but kicks over

Since you do have A fully charged battery and also you do receive fuel smell after crank start and the car wont start, either you do have an Ignition fault means not giving the spark, advice remove the spark plugs and check whether are wet with fuel, see whether are black,if so change them and before start check by leaving an HT lead off a spark and use one of the old ones connected to the HT lead and earthed to the engine, ask somebody to start the engine checking for any spark comes out. If yes then put the HT lead back to the new spark on the engine and try. If ther is not any spark, then you have to go backwards from the HT leads to distributor,Rotor Arm,Electronic igniter,Coil if is fitted,Fuse and relay. Good Luck.

What is the ht lead

The HT lead ( high tention ) is the thick black cable coming out of the ignition unit, with the spark plug cap connected to the other end, which then sits on top of the spark plug.

I have a yamaha generator and it will not start/electric start or pull also will not start

If it was left unused for a few months with fuel in it the fuel forms a gel in the carburettor and may have blocked jets. Try the solution below:
First to check that the plug is sparking;
  • Remove the spark-plug
  • Push it into the HT lead, the lead that normally is pressed onto the top of the plug, and rest it with the metal part of the plug against the metal of the generator
  • Pull the start cord and see if the plug sparks.
If it does the problem is with the fuel. If it doesn't try replacing the plug.

  • Assuming that the plug sparks alright pour about 5ml, 1 teaspoon, of fuel into the opening where you took the spark-plug out of.
  • Dip the end of the spark-plug in fuel so the spark gap is wet and replace the plug in the generator.
  • Try starting the generator
The fuel you poured into the spark-plug opening should burn causing the generator to start. The procedure may have to be repeated 2 to 3 times.

If there was fuel left for a few months in the generator and it has formed gel in the carburettor this procedure may not work. If this happens the only solution is to have the carburettor stripped down and the jets cleaned by a mechanic.

insure the wires from the magneto are not cracked or shaved as this would discharge to earth and the ht lead from the magneto to the plug is not perished as this would create leakage to earth
