Usually a problem with the door lock. Self cleaning cycles invariably break things due to the extreme heat (650'F). I advise NEVER to use them.

SOURCE: Mr. Coffee won't brew - Mod. #ECX30118

I know this sounds crazy but I just did this to mine & it worked! Mine would get power & allow me to set the clock but the brew now button would not work & I could not set the timer for delay brew. I admit, I was pissed, so I poured out the water & pounded on the base a little... I hit it a few times & banged it a few more while unplugged... plugged it back in & I pressed brew now & brewed! Then I dumped it out & set my time, delay brew timer & I am in business again!!! An internal wire was probably shifted out of place or something ridiculous because I never had any problems before this but it has been sitting a while. There is no other fix unfortunately because this model is outdated & they no longer postthe instructions or troubleshooting online. I have the same exact model. Good luck!!!

Oven door remains locked after self clean cycle - but the oven has cooled

Number one Tip, NEVER use self cleaning cycles. They only exist to break ovens and sell parts.

Try disconnecting the mains after about 10 minutes of cool down time. If that doesn't work, you will need a service call to correctly diagnose if the lock solenoid has failed or you need a new control board.

Old model frigidaire self cleaning oven CFEF359CES won't clean. Where can I find a manual for this model?

It actually did you a favour. Week in and week out we see tales of woe where the door won't open, fans have burned out, elements have failed and even one poor gent who had a melted control board on a stove that there were no parts available. Self cleaning ovens which although seem a great idea, supply a steady parts income stream for the maker and revenue for repairers to come and fix.

Manual for the 358, yours doesn't appear to exist.

Need manual for self cleaning, please?

Hello Mary;

You can get a user manual at the following website.

Locate your oven model number. It is located on a label either on the face of the oven when you open the door or on the side of the door. Put he model number into the website and you will get diagrams, component part numbers and manuals.

http://www.searspastsdirect.com/

I suspect the user manual is not going to help you. Tell me the model number and what is going on.

Manufacturers offer the self cleaning feature on ovens because customers like this feature and the ovens sell. Yet, the manufacturers engineers have not been able to provide a design that will protect all of the components from self cleaning temperature of 900-1,000 degree F.

When you go into the self cleaning model, the door will lock when you reach 500-550 Degree F. The oven temperature will raise to 900-1,000 degrees F. The oven door will not open until the oven temperature drops to 500 degree F after the self cleaning cycle is completed.

Now, You have a high temperature limit switch in your oven. If this switch fails, you will loose power to your control board and you will not be able to open the oven door.

If you have never used your self cleaning feature, the high temperature limit switch may have failed.

Do to the problems involved with the self cleaning feature, knocking out the control board from heat, additional heating element failure, and other components; It is in my professional recommendation as well as my fellow technicians not to use the self cleaning feature. If you do, do not run it for more than 1 hour instead for the manual 4 hours.

How does the self-clean feature work on a Frigidaire CFEF366EMB model?

Hi Beverly,

I understand that you are looking to run your self-clean feature on your Frigidaire range, model# CFEF366EMB.

-To start this you will remove all racks and make sure that any excessive spillovers are cleaned up as best as you can.
-Next you will press the "Clean" button, and the display will show "---".
-Press the up or down arrows to select the length of time you want the oven to clean. Usually 2 or 3 hours.
-The door will automatically lock once your time has been chosen and the "LOCK" indicator light will flash. DO NOT open the door while the light is flashing. (it takes about 15 seconds for the oven door to lock).
-"Cln" will appear in the display during the self-clean cycle and the "LOCK" light will continue to glow until the self-cleaning cycle is complete or cancelled and the oven has cooled.

When the self-clean cycle has completed:
-The time of day or "END" will appear in the display window and the "Clean" and "LOCK" light will continue to glow.
-Once the oven has cooled down for about 1 HOUR and the "LOCK" light has gone out, the oven door can be opened.
-If "END" is in the display and the Clean indicator light remains ON, press the "CLEAR/OFF" button and the time of day will appear on the display.
-When the oven is cool, wipe away any residue or powdered ash with a damp cloth or paper towel.

-Best Regards-

the display indicating the cooktop may be used normally (Figure 4).
Note: Starting a Self-Clean cycle will automatically turn ON the Cooktop

Old Amana - no manual; can't operate self clean feature

Can you locate the model number on the oven? Also any particular name of the stove? The manufactured year. These should all be available on a stainless steel or aluminum attached plate , probably on the back of the stove or inside the door.
I wouldn't try using the self cleaning feature until we get some advice. it could lock up on you and not UNLOCK. Normally self cleaning takes place at 600 or more degrees .

I'm sure others still have the same stove., I will see what I can find for you.

Inside the oven door there are some stains from liquid spill that went through the vent, how can I clean it.

If your oven is self-cleaning, consult the owner's manual for instructions on how to use this feature. The self-cleaning feature works by heating the interior of the oven to a temperature so hot that it incinerates the residue inside the oven. Normally, it is not a good idea to clean the interior of a self-cleaning oven with a spray cleaner; however, refer to your owner's manual or contact the manufacturer of your oven for further information.

To clean a non-self-cleaning oven, use one of the many oven cleaners that are available at grocery and hardware stores.
