Try swapping the old module back in. If that doesn't work, check all your wiring - any one wire from the knobs to the module that contacts ground (the frame) may trigger the module to start sparking.
Replace the "igniter switch assembly". The igniter's are getting a weak spark and since you have one that will not spark at all, this is the usual problem. Here is the assembly to order.
The part comes with a 365 day, any part, any reason return policy.
You will need a new switch harness part#12002789 and spark module part#74007397.
1. You can gain access to the switch harness by unscrewing 2x screws on each of the burners 2. The remove old wire harness and replace with new 3. Follow the wire from the harness it will lead to the spark module now replace it
what.......
just remove the four black screws that hold the top down they are above the door when closed
the top will flip up
the spark mod is right there
This is an easy problem to fix. If your repair man is correct and it is the spark module and not a wire harness problem you can pick up a spark module as sears for about $37 and it only takes a couple of minutes to install. Just pull off the back panel and replace the module. This is a repair that anyone can do. I would recommend unplugging the unit before replacing.
