The problem is with either the lever or the switch. The lever may have to be bent (?) to make contact with the switch stem or the switch may have to be shimmed to met the lever. Another possibility is that the switch is damaged or defective and will have to be replaced.

Testimonial: "Hi Tom ah I don't think you read my question in context its the lever not the switch that is the problem the lever should not need to be bent and the switch isn't broken or defective, I tested everything before putting the housing back on, and everything works. See when I turn on the blower inside the lever is suppose to slide up which in turn turns the blower on. So the question is how do I fix this?"

My motor brushes at end of life for a Black and Decker electric leaf blower. Where can I get them? Black and Decker leaf hog, model BV400 type 4, Cinderson 90510850 motor. Black and Decker site no help...

Try Platt Electrical supply - 800-257-5288 (Platt.com) BLACK & DECKER #89754-01 REPLACEMENT BRUSH. It seems the entire motor head was manufactured by DeWalt and is now obsolete. I don't know if these brushes will fit, but someone there may help.
Good Luck!

Older leafhog don't know how to change over to blower instead of vacuum model Bv2500

Remove the vacuum tube completely from the bottom of the machine and make sure the impeller cover closes completely. Remove the collection bag off of the blower outlet. Now attatch the blower tube to that outlet on the blower. Done.

I can not get the Leaf Hog to swtich from vacumn to blower. Any suggestions?

it does not "switch"

The air intake becomes the vacuum with an attachment. The "blower tube" is then the vacuum exhaust.

the motor does not change directions.
