The front covers are usually snapped into place. Grab at top and bottom and pull. It should pop right off. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

Be sure the "fan running" noise you hear is actually the fan and not just the refrigeration pump. The unit would still make a running noise but the fan may not be turning.
Check to be sure the filter is clean and that all vents are open.

Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly. Using the model number BCA101R this is a through the wall Air Conditioner. With long term use Air Conditioners build up dirt on the blower fan even IF you clean the filter on a regular basis. The particulate that builds up on the blower wheel is very fine. If you look closely at the particulate it appears black but most of the time is a very dark brown. That is dirt build up that is loose on the blower wheel and passes freely out the louvers when it comes loose from the blower wheel. When an Air Conditoner is on for long periods day after day there should be a routine maintenance cleaning schedule for the unit. Light use you can get by with cleaning it every 6 to 9 months. With heavy use you will have to clean it every 90 - 120 days. Cleaning involves removing the blower motor and power washing the evaporator and condenser coils along with the blower wheel and the rear fan blades. Anytime a power washer is used it is VERY important never to spray pressurized water at an angle other than straight on as it will bend the fins of the coils. Once the fins are bent straightening the coil fins can be a major hassle. This cleaning can be done by the home owner but.... the home owner must be able to follow electrical safety precautions by making sure the unit is not powered and that the run capacitor has been safely discharged. The control panel must also be disconnected and removed to perform proper cleaning.

Clean drain.

Hi there. Clean the condenser. (the outside cooling coil where hot air comes out.) Use compressed air. If no air, try a vacuum.

Is the outside unit running? Fan and compressor?

This is a condition called Dirty Socks Syndrome air cleaners and dehumidify usually fix the problem also adding a uv light to the duct can remedy the problem the light is probally the cheapest solution

We did find a solution, the ducts leading to bedroom in RV was blocked. So far, it has been working since we cleared the way, it no longer freezes up. Thank you.

Have it serviced. It cost me $250 to have a pro do it. Also, check the timer (the dial is hidden by a sliding cover on my unit). My husband cleaned it himself a year later and he took it apart to do it and it works much better now. When he opened it up, it was full of calcium deposit and dust. He told me he did not think the unit had been cleaned properly by the pro.
