Make sure that your software on your smart TV or other device is up to date. If the version of the apps is old, they may not be able to connect anymore. Go into the Settings menu of your smart TV and look for updates, specifically firmware updates.
Some TV's will no longer support the youtube app. Google your model of TV to see if it has been affected. Youtube may no longer be supporting smart hub and there could be one final smart hub update to fix stability issues before the support is discontinued. Some people have had success by deleting and reinstalling the youtube app or even unplugging the TV while the app is frozen and then plugging it back in and turning it on.
youtube app is being disabled now on most tvs. samsung, sony etc are just a few. tv companies don't want to have to keep updating the software to keep up with apps. and some have lost the rights to use the app and other apps like facebook.
