My LG 42LB5600-UZ.BUSWLJR started acting up where it would power itself off. While I could turn it back on, over the period of a week it no longer would go on. Ironically and for reasons I can explain, I had another almost identical model that had stopped displaying fully from which I could swap out boards. It is a LG 42LB5600-UZ.BUSDLJR. I had a custom wooden frame made up for it and wanted to continue using it. Found a used on Craigslist since 42" sets no longer were being made. You will see that the only difference in the model number is the "D" on the older one and the "W" on the newer one as the 4th to last letter. For sake of this discussion, I refer to them as the OLD and the NEW. It had been suggested that the OLD had bad LED strips since I could hear sound and see a faint display in daylight and was more apparent in a dark room using a flashlight. So, I started to swap out boards into the OLD and NEW with the following results. Using the main board from NEW in either TV and it wouldn't turn on. Using the main board from OLD in either TV resulting in flickering but brighter for the OLD TV. Swapping power boards made no difference. The T-con boards could not be swapped because different size ribbon connections. Clearly, the NEW MAIN BOARD is shot. The question is whether another MAIN BOARD should be tried in the NEW TV or does the fact that the OLD MAIN BOARD works differently in each TV indicate that it's something else? As you probably noticed, what displayed on the screen was different for the NEW and OLD TV's. If it was the MAIN BOARD, why would the display be much dimmer in one TV versus the other? Thanks for any guidance you can provide. Fingers crossed that you have a solution so I can keep using my frame.
SOURCE: Display went out. Replaced it with new display unit.
Check you part numbers , if same the new one can be bad even the clock displays
SOURCE: I have a moultrie D-40 tht has a bad display - and main board?
Moultrie will supply lcd's free, boards will have to be cannibalized from other defective cams...these cams are built in China for Moultrie, it is cheaper to buy a new cam than to have moultrie fix.

Stop buying hot TVs folks. If you bought it legit, you can take it back.
The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.
