Question about Whirlpool Ovens

2 Answers

I have a Whirlpool WFG510S0AW0 that gave an error code of F5E1 and started beeping out of no where one day. We tried resetting, setting the self clean but nothing would work so We left unplugged for the time being. When we plugged it back in, the error is gone but oven will not heat up past 215 degrees. Can anyone tell us what the issue may be. Trying to avoid calling a repair guy unless necessary so any hep is appreciated!

Honestly, it sounds like the control board has gone bad. They are usually not too finicky to R&R, but you have to find the correct part from an appliance parts store. Motherboards for appliances tend to run ~$75 - $200 depending. If you want to attempt the swap-out, first seek instructions on how to test it in place, then on how to remove and replace. If you don't find the manual or directions, and are stuck trying to open it, remove and set carefully aside any parts or shielding then you may see the value in paying a tech for service! Or get a new one....

SOURCE: I have a whirlpool oven

Got this error so I took the door latch in my hand and moved it all the way to the left a few times (it's a bit stiff) then closed the door and started the cleanning button again and whalla it worked like a charm.

Like everyone said it's because of the door latch.

I HAVE A WHIRLPOOL MODEL NUMBER RF368LXKQ RANGE AND WHEN I TRY THE SELF CLEAN BUTTON I GET F5E1 WHAT IS THE PROBLEM

Hello,

The F5E1 error codes means that the door light switch OR a switch on the self clean latch has failed. If the oven light comes on and goes off when the door is opened and closed it most likely going to be a switch on the latch thats the problem.

The part numbers are;

DOOR LATCH W10107830

LIGHT SWITCH 3195993

I have a whirlpool oven self-cleaning.. get code F5E1 or FSEI, when i set the self cleaning?

I live in apartment with a Whirlpool dishwasher and oven. Today was my first day to do automatic clean. After two minutes the "F5SEI" would pop up, then the door would unlock. I repeated this a couple of times. My mind wondered about a water source; perhaps the dishwater. Fortunately, I had a load of dishes ready to go. So I started the dishwasher, then the automatic clean on the oven. Behold! They work together like homies :)

My oven code is F5E1 , my oven was in self clean , now the door is locked

F5E1 is door latch assembly. One way that may work to unlock is to turn circuit breaker to stove off for few seconds then turn back on and door lock should activate and unlock. If not you are going to have to replace the door lock assembly.
