Try using a different website where you can download the maps for free. These should work. If they don't, you might need a software update from the same web site before getting more maps: www8.garmin.com/support/collection.jsp?product=010-00401-20
Open C:\garmin directory then right click on the .exe file "Unlock wizard". Open this file as administrator and behoild it works. Even though you may already have full administrative rights as I did.
Do you have an sd card installed with mapping data on it ( a folder named garmin)? Or a defective sd card?
I had this error with a copied map, seems to be an issue with a wrong or missing *.unl file, which is an unlock file for unlocking map data
If you are getting a Can't Unlock Maps message, you have a problem with
the map unlock code on your unit. If your Garmin is not a preloaded device,
you may need to verify that you are using the correct unlock code and
re-install your mapping software.
If
your GPS is a preloaded device, such as a nüvi, or if you cannot get
this issue fixed with this information, please call Garmin at
1-800-800-1020 for further troubleshooting.
