back up? to what> using what?
first off vast things can be put on any DVD.
endless things its just media, nothing more.
if unstated media is not copy protected
one can copy it to any thing you what.
    even drag and drop.
first tell what the target media is.

    1: the cloud .
    2: a local server.
3: other PC's . shared on your LAN.
4: USB thumb drive. over 4GB for full DVD.
5: external USB Hard drive 8TB is best.

first is the matter of space. and disk DVD counts.
    4.7GB each, single density.

    then drag/drop them.
or use backup software I use
    free for home use...

There is software what allows for clonning non-copyprotected dvd. It is called CloneDVD. There are ways to remove copy protection but this you have to find on your own, since this forum is not about pirating dvd. For your information even blueray disks can be copied using right software and compatible drives. You need to do your own research. Maybe DVDFaB ? ??????

Zenith XBR716 every time i tried to record a dvd in the unit saids copy right protected

Hey! Usually, DVD-Video has protections such as Content Scrambling System (CSS) and region codes. These protections are designed to prevent the DVD user making backup DVDs. If you want to copy DVDs, you need to remove DVD protections first. Usually, DVD Copy Software can be of help which can backup dvds by removing DVD protection. I recommend you use this DVD Copy software. Hope that helps.

Wat is the best method to keep back-up of data in hardisk

It depends on how old your computer is and how big your HD is for small amounts use DVDs and the other way i do it is have a secound hard drive in the computer so if something happens to the system it usually does not effect the second hard drive Another way is to have a large USB portable hard drive I sometimes use this as I take information to another location

Restoring Files

Is the first of your backup disks a boot-disk?

Often full system backups are restored from a bootable set of disks. There should be a message during startup to press something like F8 to change boot device. You could try using this to see if disk one of your backup is a boot disk & will allow you to restore your files.

DVDs and backup

Since recordable HD DVDs are not yet commercially available, I am afraid the only way to store your HD videos is to keep them on your tape, move them onto your PC hard-drive, an use an external hard-drive. hopefully there will soon be online video storage services that support the HDV standard.

Pixilation when playback of dubbed and homemade DVDs

As mentioned on the Jan12 e-mailed Panasonic - surprise, no response! However on Panasonic's web site drill down to firmware upgrades for DVD machines. There is an upgrade available for the E50P. Straight forward fix, download to computer, expand it and copy to a CD-R. Put CD-R into E50 and recorder will check and update firmware. I did this on the 13th and have recorded two commercial free movies and both have played back perfectly after finalization. Time will tell. Hope this helps. Golferdon

PROBLEM BURNING DVDS

First thing would be to test to see if you can burn a data dvd with Nero. If you can, than its not a problem with the drive. If your burner can't burn a regular data dvd, return it. If it can, then it is very likely the software you are usuing. Nero can't burn copyrighted dvds at all. If you havne't tried copying other dvds than you should definatly do that. No software, at least that I'm aware of can can copy every dvd, different dvds use different encryptions, and they are coming out with new methods it seems like all the time. I would recommend Dvd Shrink and Clone Dvd. I have not been able to copy every dvd I have, but I have been able to backup the ones I really need backuped.
