Hi just regular AA batteries as well as Makita rechargeable batteries for power tools I have a BL1830 & BL1840 18v but no charger for them.

The 18v batteries as mentioned above are the correct ones to use. I just need a cheap charger for them and ac power cord to see if this helps fix my issues with radio.

The BL1830/1840 batteries need a DC18RC charger. If you shop around online you can pick up a actual Makita one reasonably cheap. I would recommend that you buy a Makita unit as the cheaper Chinese ones dont always do the job properly.
The cables you need will depend on which country you live in. This is because different countries use a different plug to connect to the wall outlet.

I think this radio uses two different sets of batteries. There is the smaller batteries that store preset radio stations and a larger battery pack to power the actual radio. If your partner had other Makita cordless tools some of those batteries will fit and there will be a charger for them.
I've put a link to a website for a users manual. (try looking at page 3. The larger battery will be a black block which is the same type used for the cordless tools. The squarer battery pack style should slide upwards towards the handle and the rounder shape battery packs should just pull out.
Talk to a good builder or a Trade tool supplier and they may be able to help or order you the power cables you need. If not contact Makita directly and they will be able to help you.

I cam working on one and the transformers' primary winding is open. You will most likely need part # 429790-48 from Dewalt.

SOURCE: Makita DC1414 schematic

From my experience most chargers do not have replacement parts. And when you do find a schematic for a battery charger it consists of just the cord and housing, and the printed circuit board is not available. This is the case with this model DC1414. The cord and housing are the only things available for replacement. You can purchase a new charger for around $37. If you have any questions please post back.

I had my power cord tested from electrician and it work, but I plug my makita radio into it and the radio doesn't work. Any idea why or how to fix.

Radio has died - Get new radio since repair not cost effective. But check the on/off switch for proper operation before anything drastic.

Ho can i get sound working on makita radio

OK, I do not know which model of radio you have but if it is similar to DMR105, try doing a "factory reset".

It is also possible that one of the following has happened:
The station you were listening to had a break in transmission. - Try another station.
You have lost the radio signal. - Try another station.
Your battery has run flat. Change battery/power source.

I have a 24v SDS drill, and have not abused it or over worked. But the batteries do not accept a full charge, this is very disappointing as the drill is great, do i have to take batteries appart to find...

DO NOT Take the Batteries apart, you will see nothing more than a bunch of cells and if they are less than 1 year old than they may still be covered by Makita's warranty. Makita will Void that warranty if you open the batteries. Contact their service center they should be able to tell the age of your tool from the serial number or date code stamped in the tool. http://www.makita.com/en-us/Modules/Service/ServiceCenters.aspx or 1-800-4-Makita
If they are older than a year old you are out of Luck. While you cared for your tools, Hammerdrilling in general is an abusive application for batteries and will discharge the batteries quickly and reduce the number of recharges you will get on the battery. I always recommend people always use their cordless Hammerdrills only when corded power is not available

My makita 18v 2.0 battery won't keep a charge makita 2.0AH battery showing charged on charger loses charge as soon as i start drilling

It appears that your battery is worn out. They will charge, but miminally. If it is a nickle cad battery, and relatively new, you may have a memory problem. Try draining the battery completely several times and recharging each time. Be sure the battery is completely dead before recharging.

Makita radio blinks e

usually the blinking E means the backup batteries are dead.

the backup batteries are AA and should go in the lower compartment on the rear of the radio.

just make sure you install the backup (AA) batteries in first, then insert your main battery to run the unit. doing it backwards wont always clear the "E" notification
