SOURCE: Whenever i turn on my camera its says

Hello, I had the same problem and resolved it using the following program, which you can download from softonic ( is free ) :

http://pc-inspector-smart-recovery.softonic.com/

Is easy to use, you connect your card to de pc (with a pc reader or the camera ), select the card's folder, the file type (jpg) and destination folder for recovering the pictures and finally press init. After that the program will detect that the card is broken and will ask you to do an intensive inspection, answer yes and you'll begin to see your pictures into the destination folder. The process take a time, but is satisfactory.

There is more programs to do his as "card recovery", but no free

  • There may be a problem with the terminal's hardware.
If you have tried restarting the terminal and the "loading0S" message is still there, you should contact Vingcard support for assistance. They will be able to help you troubleshoot the problem and determine the best course of action.
Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try before contacting Vingcard support:
  • Restart the terminal.
  • Check the terminal's power supply.

Canon SD870 IS lens does not open fully, motor runs.

The best advice is to have it fixed properly. Once these are serviced correctly, they tend to perform like they should. The place that can fix that one is www.camerasandparts.com They do the service for the camera with the repair which is the key to it working the way it should. It's only $79 with them for that service package and it covers parts labor and shipping back. Their the best deal if you need to have a Canon serviced. Their work is as good as it gets for these cameras.

When you turn it on, the screen says "lens error"

Hi there please follow the steps and let me know the result.
1. Ensure batteries are fully charged & clean the battery connector point in side the battery compartment.
2. Look carefully between the lens and the camera body for any sand, dirt or any damaged etc.
3. Try turning the camera with the lens facing down and shake to dislodge anything stuck
4. Try removing batteries and memory card, wait 5 minutes and refit the battery only.
5. Now turn on camera( with out card ) and see ,if working then fix the memory card & again turn on the camera. If working then fine . Otherwise format the memory card and fix back in camera again & try. Make sure before format the memory card take a back up all photos in your computer then format. Sony camera memory card will not come out of 8-in-1 memory card reader on my Dell Inspiron laptop. It did download all the photos but now is stuck (too far in). Tweezers are too big to grab it. Is a trip...

if you are unable to get it the best idea is to take it to a geek squad, or any other computer repair place. they will have to take apart the laptop to get to it most likely. sorry about your problem, and thank you for using fixya!
