Hi, I have a Onkyo CR-515 cd receiver. I don't understand why did the standby indicator fail to light up immediately when I power on. It came on only after a long while. And when it has lighted up, I could not turn on the player when I pressed the standby button. It stayed at the standby mode. May I know what could be the issues? Thank you!

SOURCE: Black Screen / Computer Stays in Standby Mode

Completely remove the battery and unplug the power cord for a few minutes. Reinsert battery and power up. You can also hit F8 when starting and see if you can boot into safe mode.

SOURCE: Remote control via RI terminal on Onkyo Receiver

Not sure I can solve, but maybe help. I am having a similiar problem. However, make sure you Analog Audio (RCA type) cable are connected even if using Digital connection between the two. They use those cable to send the Commands (Mentioned in the documentation).
If you did get yours to work, please give me a hint... I upgraded mine from a 603 to a 701 and haven't been able to get it to work since.

Hello, Sorry, if the receiver does not turn on we can't do any troubleshooting. I suggest having your receiver serviced or traded in. Thank you, Onkyo USA

Onkyo AV Receiver TX-SR503 While sleeping with earphones connected, the receiver shut down and the standby light blinked. I unplugged the power cord, reconnected power and the receiver shut down...

Have you provided adequate ventilation?
May be your receiver is running hot and when there is loud volume it is obviously getting overloaded. There are no fans inside 674, the only way to provide good ventilation is to keep the top of receiver clear for atleast 6 to 8 inches.

Hope that helps.....

How do I get the electronic digital display to light up.

Hi Dudley, I would suggest that you try the following reset:

To do the reset you need to turn the receiver on then on the front panel of the receiver press and hold the "VIDEO1/VCR" button while doing that press the "STANDBY/ON" button. You will see the word "Clear" in the display screen and the receiver will go into standby mode. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR AUDIO & VIDEO ASSIGNMENTS ON THE RECEIVER PLUS YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR SPEAKER CONFIGURATIONS, SPEAKER DISTANCE AND ALL LEVEL CALIBRATION SETTINGS. YOU WILL ALSO LOSE ANY PROGRAMMED RADIO STATIONS IN MEMORY. Once the receiver goes into standby mode turn it back on and go thru the setup menu for all custom settings.

Thanks, JT

I have Onkyo HT510 receiver. does not turn "ON".

hi,
There is a standby transformer inside the Onkyo receiver at the mains input stage. If the standby transformer is faulty then the unit will not power on. There will be two transformers. One is big and the other is a small one. The small tarnsformer is the standby transformer. Which will be fitted on a small board where the power cable is connected. Replace the transformer to rectify this problem.

RE: OnKYO CR-305TX CD RECEIVER Why do the "saved"

There shouldn't be a battery inside but a super capacitor that is supposed to keep the station memory...may be the capacitor is defective...it should be located on the tuner/radio board and may have a high value such as .47Farads at 5 volts...you may need a tech to replace if you have no working knowledge of circuits , but if you do , you should be able to obtain one at radio shack...they sometimes call these capacitors memory backup capacitors
