I turn on my Ps3 and its working and turning on but nothing shows up on the tv screen. All the cables are working so what do i do?

ok with the power button turned off press and hold the power button you will here one beep and then two beeps and then release and look at your tv and there you go.

Verify the connections between the TV and the PS3. I would also try another cable if you have one on hand.
Turn the PS3 off so the red light is showing then press and hold the power button on the PS3 until you hear the second beep that will reset the video setting on the PS3, that may or may not help.
Try the PS3 on another TV this will verify if it is the PS3 that has the problem or the TV.

Make sure you have the cables hooked up properly, regardless of whether your using an HDMI cable or regular A/V cables.

Best thing to do in a case like this is to do a factory reset on your PS3. Be sure that the A/V cables are being used originally and are hooked up properly.

Here is how to do the factory reset on a PS3:

1 - Turn on TV and set input to port being used.
2 - Make sure PS3 is connected via correct cable.
3 - Power on PS3 via power button and HOLD IT for 5 seconds (release after the second beep). It should automatically configure your PS3 to the TV's native resolution for all settings.

Try that, if you still don't get video and you know the cables and the TV are set to the right output then its an issue with the main board not having any output.

how was it connected at this other residence? was it via HDMI cable by any chance? if so try this, with the PS3 in stand by mode Press and hold the power button for 5 secs.. (until you hear the second beep) this causes the PS3 to reset the display properties back to 480i..follow the onscreen instructions to set it back up to 1080i

I had this problem before. I messed with the settings on my PS3 and My TV until the settings matched. My PS3 would show the home until I loaded a game. I turned off then on my PS3 to get to the settings. My TV manual had the types of videos it supported so I went with the second to highest setting it supported and it worked. Hope this helps.

first make sure all componet cables match up in color in back of the tv turn on ps3 and try using the remote to change the componet selection of the port your using

Turn off the system, Then when its in standby mode when the red light is on, press and hold the button to turn it on, Wait untill you hear 3 beeps then let go if the system turns off try it again its a master reset then just restore factory settings

I posted to your problem with a similar one. I was able to get my PS3 to work by:

1.) Powering down both the PS3 and ViewSonic LCD
2.) Unplugging the power cables to both PS3 and LCD
3.) Waiting at least 10 or more seconds
4.) Plugging in the power cables to both PS3 and LCD
5.) Turning on the ViewSonic LCD
6.) Turning on the PS3 and holding down the power button until the beep

After this sequence I heard the bootup audio and the menu appeared on the screen- which detected the HDMI connection to my LCD.

Very odd.. I've had my PS3 in the same place for months and just today this happened.

1. Connect via AV and turn on the system.
2. Go to Setting and then Display setting
3. Select the connector type on your TV.
4. After you selected connector your TV screen may go staid black. Try to hook your HD cable while the system is still on. (This step should be done in 30 sec. If not, will go back to previous screen)
5. Your TV Screen should be on via HD cable
   

switch the hard switch off in the back of the ps3. unplug power cord... press and hold power button located on the front f the ps3 for approx 10 secs, then let it sit for a few, then hook it back up and turn the hard switch back on and try to power it back up.

I have had this happen once before but it did return to normal.
