This repair is not as easy as you might expect. The door gasket, inner door panel, and insulation must be removed to get at the screws attaching the door handle.
hi welcome to fix-ya, You see 2-3 screws on back panel ? Or is there 2 screws in floor panel ? You dont have a full model number. Like 106 is whrilpool. The 3 numbers in front is what i need.
The thermal fuse, sometimes called a "thermister" is a device that is usually located behind the rear panel in the freezer. It looks like a wire with a small thing on the end that is secured to the coils behind the rear panel. You will need to remove all the contents of the freezer and remove the rear panel in the freezer...You most likely are going to need to replace it, so getting a new one before you start taking everything apart will be a good idea..You'll need the model # of the fridge etc. Find an appliance parts dealer to acquire the new part which should be fairly inexpensive.. Search "refrigerator thermal fuse" on YouTube and you should find a few video's on what to do and what to look for..Good luck!
t probably needs a defroster timer. You can take it apart and clean the contacts with some sand paper to fix the old one. It's located just behind the light bulb. You will have to lower the cover for the light to get to it. Defrost the top freezer by leaving it off for a period of time or take the shelves out and blowing hot air into the rear vents until ice melts. Then reinstall timer and plug back in. Get the whole model number and go to appliancepartspro.com to get a diagram. I fixed mine in less than an hour. frt18il6dw
I need you to check a couple things for me before we go to far. Is frost building up in freezer back panel? Are all fans inside and outside of the refrigerator. That refrigerator has a control board and we may need to have a look at it. The control board is AP4139120
But I need to hear from you first before going further. Thanks, Sea Breeze
yes you have to take off the ice maker then remove the scews, sometimes there is a air channel that has to be removed which are held in by plastic tabs
I just bought the SamsungRF267AB bottom freezer refrigerator. Amoung the features that must be disabled for shabbos are the lights, motor cuttoff and inside panel indicators. On most refrigerators there is a swich that you can tape in the depressed mode that will trick the unit into thinking the door is still closed. With this unit it's magnetic. you need to place a magnet on the top of the door frame to make the refigerator think the door is still closed. I hope this helps.
