This is an LED unit and it has no inverter. The LED backlights are controlled by a current sensing power board.. The loss of one or more LED lights in the backlight strips cause the current level to change and the sensor keeps the unit from switching on. IT could also be the power supply.

Hey!

I also have a SAMSUNG LE52M87 LCD TV and I have the same
ANOYING BUZZ comming from ( I think ) backlight converter. - I am
almost 100% that its because of the backlight inverter while the sound shifts frequency when backlight is changed ( from 1 - 10 ), but the volume of the buzz stays the same. Only the tone changes. I have this TV for a year now and havent realy noticed until now, so I think it started buzzing recently, because I didnt hear it before ( and I got realy sensitive hearing :) ) ...

ITS DRIVING ME CRAZY ...

PLEASE post what happened when ( if ) you changed the inverter,
or what did you do to solve the problem ...

SOURCE: Replaced caps on the psu / inverter board, but

your inverter has gone , if you can see the screen faintly then the inverter isnt illuminating the backlight
it needs replacing

Is my picture tube gone in my seiki hd tv because i can hear sound but i cant see a picture
These TVs do not have a tube, You get tubes in CRT TVs only!

It could be the backlight screen inverter PCB has gone, to test if you shine a torch light at the screen with the TV on and can see a faint picture then it is probably the inverter.

LED TV - replaced power board but still no backlight? LED backlights do not seem to work.
yes the led backlight for whatever reason is not functioning and that is the root cause of your problem. Unfortunately to find a replacement led backlight is tough as the backlight is normally fixed with the lcd panel and has to match the voltage and all that stuff with motherboard. and if that doesn't match you might short the tv itself. this case is as good as getting a replacement lcd panel.

I have TV Seiki model SE50FY28 when we turn on the TV, it works for a minute then the screen goes black, we still have audio and the flashlight test shows a faint image, what may the problem be?
Probably the back light inverter is faulty . Before going to buy a new inverter board tey to check the power supply. Which the bellow added video to know how to check a power supply board. You have to check the 24V power sto the inverter board from the power supply. if its not there then the problem is with power board. If its ok then you have to go for a new inverter board. Also try to replace the electrolytic capacitors in the power supply board. some times bad electrolytic capacitors can lead to back light failure.

Se50fy10 backlight not working
This is an exact problem that I am facing with my Seiki 50" TV. From my research, here are the probable issues:
1. Main Board/T-Con Boards are fine
2. Power Board : MIP550D-5TB could be defective - most probably the culprit. There is a power test to try but w/o schematics, it is not possible to identify component
3. If Power Board replacement does not solve, it is the backlight LED strips that are defective - tought one to replace.
Will update this thread at a later date.

Seiki led tv has sound but no picture. The picture can be seen with flashlight. We tried resetting default on menu with tech support, still no picture. Has no backlight. Which part should we replace?
You are correct, this is a backlight issue! The screen inverter is usually built into a circuit board, if you want to attempt this yourself you will need to access the circuit boards to see which one you need to replace! If you open up the TV and post a picture we will be able to point you in the right direction!
