The reason for the thick black line is that the screen is receiving no information to that section, either because the screen itself has developed a fault or the processor is not supplying to that portion, either way Im sorry to say the item is more than likley a uneconomical repair.
ok when u say processor ,are we talking replacing a board,cause i have no problem with that,when i first got it,it had no pic at all,i inspected it and found the power supply had loose solder joints ,i repaired that ,then i got the pic,but it had the black line,i also have no sound ,so im thinking main board problem
Without being able to physically examine the item its impossible to say, but I would go with your hunch, but if you and I are wrong then it could be a expensive mistake. Is it really worth the hassle ?
