Blinking Led usually suggests failed power supply. In most cases, it is due to defective capacitors.

This is a very common problem with model. This problem is your Z sus Board. NOT your power supply, or Y sus board. There is a pair of Diode that goes bad. Your only solution is to change your Z sus Board. Part Number 6871QZH036B average cost $237.00

SOURCE: LG 37 inch Flat Panel Loses picture

Take a camcorder and capture it, that should be enough proof that it's failing often enough to be repair right. When the picture goes out, can you see it dimly if you take a flash light to the screen? It might be a bad inverter.

SOURCE: My 2 month old 37" LG HDTV won't turn on...

I called my local Best Buy for our LG 37" and let me just put it nicely that I am no longer a customer of Best Buy after 8 years of patroning... Ours is 5 months old and still under the manufacturers 1 year warranty. After 2 hours of talk time to those "people" at Best Buy, I called LG USA directly (1-800-243-0000) and they are sending out a tech to repair whatever is causing ours to turn off by itself and not power up. This will be covered under the 1 year warranty and all I have to supply is the receipt to the repair tech. Hopefully, things will go well since I have now move on from the inept abilities of Best Buy. LG warranty is a nice alternative to paying The Geek Squad for sure.

Use a voltmeter to verify the different voltages on the power supply board are present within tolerance. Look for discolored , puffy or domed capacitors. Repair kits and complete replacement boards can be had from: TV Parts Universal TV Stands DLP Chips ShopJimmy
