I removed the spark plug and without it pulls fine, replaced the plug and won't pull again. I'm not sure what this means or what the next step is, both of us are newbies when it comes to engines. The bike was running fine until he fell going up a hill. Thanks!
It is possible that while the bike was laying down that oil or fuel entered the cylinder and is now causing a hydro-lock. With the spark plug out, pull the crank a lot of times. Check to see if fluid comes out of the spark plug hole. Also check to see if the plug is wet or damaged. If you can, look into the cylinder with a light.
Testimonial: "Yes, with the spark plug removed, fluid does come out of the hole when I pull the crank. Do I need to remove all the fluid, if so, what's the best way? Thank you for your help!"

Just put a towel over the plug hole and sharply pull the starter cord a few times. Then wash the oil off the spark plug with carburetor cleaner or starter fluid and put back in.
If you have an air compressor use it to blow out as much as you can.
