No a Sony dvd remote can't program a sanyo tv

Its 50-50 at best that it will program or work.
Another option is take the bad remote to a repair shop--where I work we fix most of them and usually under 20 dollars.

This remote is designed to control the product that it originally came with. If the remote has buttons for other product types (TV, DVD, etc.), it can control only Sony branded versions of these products.
