SOURCE: I just installed 3 new GY21098 spindles on my lawn

Hello,

Normally they come together already pregreased , How ever what I do, sense i don't really trust parts that pregreased, I try and get some more in there if I can. If not, you should be alright, sense they are put together complete, they come greased. Thanks Mike

When changing spindles I always add at least 7 or 8 pumps of grease from the grease gun. Usually John Deere does not ship anything with grease. Daniel.

SOURCE: ive replaced a stock spindle with a drop spindle on my 95 gmc sierra and i can't seem to get the rotor on the spindle far enough to put the spindle castle nut on?

just remove the spindle as it slows the speed of your engine thus making it to consume a lot of fuel over a short distance

How do I remove the spindle shaft from the spindle shaft assembly on a Craftsman 917.28907 mower deck blade pulley?

On most you cant. Some are pressed in so on those you need a press to get them out. Usually the spindle assembly is not that much more than just the spindle...and since it's assembled you don't need to worry about bearings and grease either.

Can you grease the spindle on mustang

The factory spindles do not have grease fittings. I had to replace one of mine and the replacement did have a grease fitting. After seeing this, I drilled, tapped and installed grease fittings in the remaining two spindles. Ounce of prevention.....

Grease fittings for spindles

Some cheaper mowers don't have grease zirks for the spindle bearings. If you cleaned off the deck and you can't see them, the only thing to do is remove some shields and keep looking, or check with manufacturer details to see if it even has them. A simple call to a craftsman repair shop should be able to answer that question.

Where Are The Greasing Points

Grease points on your mower should include the inside of the front wheels, and steering on both sides near the tires. Depending on the type of deck spindles and bearings you may have a few points on the deck to grease.

I hope this helps.

Cub Cadet lt-1050 can't steer

If you purchased this unit from a home center etc. they never set them up or grease them ... if you can not steer this unit it was probly never greased at set up . you may need to remove the front spindles from the axle and remove the rust. before you reassemble be sure the grease fitting is not pluggedd up with rust as well , reinstall replace retainingclip( you will need to get a new ones) and grease your machine, also the mower spindles have grease fittings as well that need to be greased but the spindles need to be taken apart and the inner bearings seal removed to allow grease to enter the bearings

How do i change outter tie rod

Prepare your tie rod and install the grease fitting provided with it. 1. Jack up vehicle and secure on jack stand 2. Remove wheel 3. Turn steering wheel so that access is best to the tie rod assembly. 4. Loosen jam nut on tie rod.Do not disturb or turn this more than what is needed to make it loose from the tie rod as this will be your rough reference point and at least close when installing new tie rod. 5. Remove cotter pin from castle nut where tie rod attaches to spindle assembly. 6. Remove castle nut 7. Remove tie rod from spindle assembly - Free with a hammer striking it on the castle nut shaft to drive it out of the hole. 8. un-thread tie rod from tie rod shaft holding the shaft still with vice grip or other pliers. 9. Install tie rod on shaft until it meets the jam nut. 10. Insert tie rod to spindle, tighten, and install new cotter pin in castle nut. 11. Tighten jam nut 12. Grease tie rod assembly 13. Install wheel and have aligned. Do not skip having this aligned regardless of how it drives, post repair as tie rods absolute length can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. Your final alignment will not be accurate until it is set on a rack with an alignment machine.
