The timer has 3 prongs holes. Do you think I might need an adapter for my dehydrator which only has 2 prongs?
I have no experience with dehydrators but I know of nothing that makes them electrically different to any other appliance. Clearly as it only has two prongs it is a double insulated device and doesn't need a ground connection and this is common with various other devices that might need controlling with a timer.
As long as you connect your appliance to the power pin receptacles of the timeswitch and ignore the ground, it should work if the timer has been set per instructions - as it is basically an electric clock, if it is working the timer dial should move indicating the current time. The connection to the timer can be tested by moving the override switch found on the lower right of the timer, when your dehydrator should be permanently switched on.
