SOURCE: We just purchased a top load Kenmore 800 washer

The first thing seems to be the timer,or the water level switch. Try filling the washer with water by hand, if it starts to agitate after being filled its the timer, if not it is the water level switch, let me know if you need further assistance.

SOURCE: top load Kenmore 800 washer will not fill with water

OK - I have a solution to my problem with this washing machine. Nothing would work except for one of the spin cycles. I thought it was the main switch - the cycle selection and start switch - but I was wrong. The service tech replaced the switch behind the fabric softener. It's the switch that controls the water levels. Part # W10292584. Our government is forcing the manufacturers to put controls on the washing machine to save water. It's a bad idea and is causing lots of problems. Tech says he's replacing them on a regular basis. Less than $100 if you do it yourself. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: KENMORE WASHING MACHINE WATER OVERFLOW

Is this a TOP LOADER? Or, a FRONT LOADER? This problem is commonly attributed to either a leaking water inlet valve, or a pressure switch malfunction. The following links explain how to diagnose the problem and repair as necessary:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3753517-whirlpool_top_load_washer_fills_when_not http://www.fixya.com/support/r3753262-front_load_washer_fills_when_not_in_use

The easiest and most common cause of this problem is the small plastic air hose on the pressure switch coming loose. It can usually be fixed by simply reattaching the hose. However, read through all the information provided and double check everything to make sure.

Replacement parts (if required) can be purchased at any of the following websites:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

All these sites are reputable and have great service with competitive pricing, so shop and compare. The first three sites I listed also include helpful exploded view parts diagrams to assist you in locating and properly identifying the parts you need.

If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

SOURCE: Kenmore 80 Series top loading washer--will not stop filling with water at the beginning of the wash cycle and for the rinse cyle. Is there an easy fix or should I purchase a new washer? How much can I

The pressure switch is failed - remove the tube from inside the top console area and blow it out. If you're lucky it will again work - with no charge.

When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem: It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer. It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. You may have 2 defective parts.
First, make sure the hot and cold water hoses are connected correctly and both turned on.
If the water fill problem is the same, the water temp switch is bad.
The not filling after the wash cycle could be a bad lid switch.
Set the machine for SPIN and turn it on.
If it does not spin, replace the lid switch.

Top load Kenmore Washing Machine will just keep filling and not stop, unless you turn it to spin cycle. Is this a timer or a sensor issue? Replaced another part on it, maybe did not hook something else up...

If it stops letting water in when you put it on spin, I would suspect the timer. BUT you said you replaced something else? Please tell me what that is and we can go from there. Usually though, the plugs in the wiring only fit one way, or one place.
