Question about Dyson Dryers
First thing is to check the wall socket. Use a desk lamp or something similar and plug it into the socket you use for the heater. If the lamp works so does the socket. Next check the fuse. UK machine have a fuse in the plug, other countries use different systems.
If all these check out OK the surge may have damaged a circuit board inside the heater. Only a Dyson specialist could help you with that.

You have a power supply issue on the main board of your set. This is not an easy fix for a home owner, Your best bet is to call a service shop and get a price quote. Tearing into tv's is very dangerous! High voltage is present even when unplugged! Good luck!

1. usually when a power surge has occurred and a electric appliance is the victim o f that surge the first thing in the power supply circuit to go is the rectifier diodes or rectifier array and the surrounding filter capacitors. this array regulates the AC coming into the set as a full wave signal.
2. It is wise to refer to a schematic when repairing a rear projection TV. Some components are static sensitive.
3. checking all the component at the input of the start up circuit is first and foremost.

There is a 20A fuse on the AC power board it is most likely blown. Follow the power cable to the board the big white ceramic fuse is the main, check continuity with meter and replace.
