First thing is to check the wall socket. Use a desk lamp or something similar and plug it into the socket you use for the heater. If the lamp works so does the socket. Next check the fuse. UK machine have a fuse in the plug, other countries use different systems.
If all these check out OK the surge may have damaged a circuit board inside the heater. Only a Dyson specialist could help you with that.

SOURCE: Power outage due to power

You have a power supply issue on the main board of your set. This is not an easy fix for a home owner, Your best bet is to call a service shop and get a price quote. Tearing into tv's is very dangerous! High voltage is present even when unplugged! Good luck!

SOURCE: Due to surge in power,

1. usually when a power surge has occurred and a electric appliance is the victim o f that surge the first thing in the power supply circuit to go is the rectifier diodes or rectifier array and the surrounding filter capacitors. this array regulates the AC coming into the set as a full wave signal.
2. It is wise to refer to a schematic when repairing a rear projection TV. Some components are static sensitive.
3. checking all the component at the input of the start up circuit is first and foremost.

It's technically possible, but depends on the damage.

Dyson hot cool AM04 fan. I purchased this on eBay with a warranty and was told by the seller after receiving it a converter is required to use it in Australia. However it turns out using the converter...

Hi Seaye, it's Jack at Dyson.

Dyson appliances are engineered for use within the countries they're sold in, and we do strongly advise against importing a Dyson machine from one country for use in another. As you've mentioned, this can void the warranty, and a machine made for use in another country will not meet local legislation in Australia. Additionally, we're unable to guarantee that we'd have facilities available locally to support the machine with spares or servicing in the event of a breakdown.

The Dyson Australia Support team will be best placed to help further with your enquiry, and I would encourage you to call them directly on 1800 239 766, or to email them at [email protected]

Someone will be in touch as soon as possible to discuss your concerns.

AM04 ONCE TERMOSTAT TEMP IS REACHED, UNIT POWER SHUTS OFF AND HAS TO BE MANUALLY RESTARTED

Hi Jeanette, it's Jack at Dyson.

It's normal for the fan to revert to monitoring mode once the target temperature you've selected (shown on the LED display on the base) has been reached. But the machine should automatically turn itself back on again once the temperature drops below the target.

If you feel it's not doing this as rapidly as it should be, or if it seems to be shutting itself off completely, we'd encourage you to get in touch. If a repair or replacement is needed we can confirm if this is covered under your machine's 2-year guarantee.

You can reach us on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

Heater won't work

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

AM04 has an intelligent thermostat which you can set to the degree. The machine will then monitor the room temperature and cycle on and off as needed to maintain the temperature you've chosen. If the heater doesn't seem to be running, it may be because the temperature you've selected is below the current room temperature. When the room temperature drops below the temperature you've picked, the heater should come on.
