Have you cleaned the spark plug , replaced it, or the carberation system?
If not, then this could be the problem.
Plug builds up corrosion over a period of time and cleaning is requird. also resetting the gap.
GAs goes stale too to flush out the old gas and put new gas.

SOURCE: Describe your Husqvarna "Chain Saw -
Remove the spark plug and test for spark. If ok, try some starting fluid in the plug hole, install the plug, and try to start. If it runs a short time, it is not getting fuel. Check fuel lines including inside the tank. Clean or replace the air filter. If this saw is fairly old, the carburetor probably needs a re-kit and cleaning. Does it have good compression? Check the muffler for plugging. Make sure the fuel/oil mix is fresh. Good luck!

Check the fuel lines for cracks/breaks. If they are o.k., then:
Youwillneed to disassemble the carburetor and spray with carb.cleaner.Makesure the small screen is free of debris. (Should be able to seedaylightthrough it.)
Use a Den Tek Brush, (http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=165357&catid=1152),to clean the small portals in carb. These portals can become blocked. Reassemble and start.
If the carb. parts are more than 4 years old, you may have to replace them.
If you need further assistance on:
1. Fuel line replacement or
2. Carburetor kit replacement
Just let me know.

Check the wire that goes to the "OFF" button. See if it is by chance loose or cracked allowing a short. Beyond that, it would probably be the coil, but I would lean towards some type of a short, especially if you know the plug is OK.
