Check with your local appliance repair shop. They may have what you need out back or know where you find the part you need. They might even have after market parts cheaper.

My ice maker won't come out.

When I serviced these units I had to take the freezer door off to access the ice maker. There are two screws in the front of the icemaker and 2 tong and groves which hold the icemaker to the freezer celling. These tong and grooves in the back on the ice maker right and left corners.

Once the ice maker is free, you will need a small flat head screw driver to wedge into the icemaker connector to disconnect the wiring.

If you are 100% sure your problem is the ice maker assembly, you may want to consider purchasing the new assembly before starting this task. This way you can inspect the top to the icemaker for mounting.

The two screws are either hex or Phillips heads. If it is a hex head you need to make sure the 1/4" hex head can fit into the recess where the screws are located. Some 1/4" hex head drivers are too large in outside diameter.

Before you condemned the ice maker have you considered:

1.) There is a square red reset in the front center bottom.

2.) I assume since you have defrosted the freezer there is not a ice cube jamming the ice maker.

3.) And since you defrosted the freezer you do not have a frozen fill tube.

Last thing; press the red reset button. If the ice maker cycles but does not fill, then you have a water supply problem. This could be a kink in the water line, water shut off valve could be bad restricting 50-60 PSI required pressure, or a bad water solenoid valve. Check the solenoid valve for continunity with your Ohm meter.

A rubber piece fellout and there is a white wire hanging out.

This just happened to me.

The waxy piece has a clear plastic bracket, if its not connected, look around your freezer. The waxy piece fits inside the bracket, and attaches to the ice maker, just in front of the ice tray.

The white wire fits inside the waxy piece. It is the thermostat that tells the ice tray when to dump the ice.

This is impossible to feel around for, so you will need to remove at least the bottom freezer compartment as well as the ledge piece from just inside the freezer door. If you are a relatively thin/small person, you can extend the top tray fully outward, and slide underneath. Looking up at the ice maker, the plastic bracket should have a little prong. This prong will attach just behind the ice maker, with the thermostat facing the ice tray.

I just replaced ice maker assembly because of broken plastic which holds drive gear. Now the new ice maker will not fill up with water. Water dispenser works fine.

Is there water or ice in the ice mold? If not put water in it and see if it dumps the ice after it’s frozen. If there is ice, lift the cut off arm and let it drop to see if it will start.
If it does dump the ice but don’t refill with water.
Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.

Our old RV U-Line Icemaker, model 45A has stopped making ice and does not get cold. What does it need?

You need to check to see if the compressor is running and the fan is running. If both are then you need a new unit. The 45A has the r12 refrigerant in it and you wont be able to get parts for a r12 system. U-line makes a BI95 to replace that model. If the fan isnt running then I would replace the fan. If nothing is running then it could be a bad thermostat but first make sure the ejector blade on the icemaker is at the 12 oclock position.

Replaced icemaker with new one but still not working

The ice maker has a problem The ice maker is a separate appliance within the freezer section. Please see the How things Work section of our website to learn about the normal functioning of ice makers. Some common problems with ice makers are:

The ice maker has completely stopped producing ice
The ice maker is producing ice poorly
The ice maker has completely stopped producing ice Check to see whether the ice maker has been turned off. Here's how to check. Look for a wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If this wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. On some units you simply lower the wire to the down position to turn the ice maker on. On others, you lower a small red plastic lever to lower the wire. If the wire is in the proper position check the freezer temperature, it should be between 0-8 degrees Fahranheit. If it is warmer than 10-12 degrees, the ice maker may not produce any ice. Check your door seals and thermostat, repair/replace as necessary.

The ice maker is producing ice poorly When an ice maker is producing ice poorly--when it produces just a few cubes or none, or when the cubes are too small--it's usually because of a clogged water line or a defective water inlet valve.

First, check the water line attached to the back of the refrigerator for good water flow. To do that, first turn off the water supply valve. Then remove the water line from the back of the refrigerator. Next, place the water line into a bucket and momentarily turn the water valve back on to test the flow. If the flow is poor, you need to repair, clean, or replace the tubing or the shut-off valve that supplies the water. If the flow is good, you may have to replace the water inlet valve.

There's an ice- or water-dispensing problem The ice and water-dispensing system of your refrigerator is quite complex. Many components work together to provide the ice and water. Aside from a simple problem of a leaky water tube or a jammed ice chute, most other components are not user serviceable. We suggest that you contact a qualified appliance repair technician for such repairs

Ice maker not ejecting ice and then tries to fill tray and leaks

The Ice Maker Tray had a small plastic piece break off. This piece aids the tray in bending to dislodge the ice from the tray. Bosch does not just sell the tray, you will have to buy the whole ice maker assembly. You will need to order Part # 0422 from Bosch. I was not very happy about having to spend $112.00 for this whole assembly when all I really needed was a simple ice cube tray.
Save the $112 and remove the ice maker. Buy Ice at the grocery store.
