Once there, under System and Security choose: Fix Problems with Windows Update, paying special attention to click a checkbox on this troubleshooter that reads "Run as Administrator," as this may fix more problems.

You may successfully get some updates, while others will still not install. You may need to repeat running the Windows Update Troubleshooter more than once. I recommend rebooting in between running it again.

Hi,
The problem might be becoz of service pack of windows 7. Please uninstall the currently installed service-pack and then try to update Windows 7.

Its highly advisable to clean system registery using any good system registery tool like cCleaner.
