Hi Donna,
If customer service was unable to help I doubt the $9.99 extension was available. McAfee has been in my experience a resource hog.
You have other options to keep your machine safe and clean.
Plus Zero dollars to fork over.
I use others but these three very good:
1. Malwarebytes: Free Anti Malware Internet Security Software
Last but probably the best in first line defense:
3. Winpatrol: WinPatrol Ruiware LLC
Winpatrol runs in the system tray and the little terrier barks whenever something tries to edit the registry. You would be surprised which websites right after you leave attempt to add their junk/spyware. This program gives you back the power to just say no! The other two I run once a month more if you like.
Just do not run two virus programs at the same time.
Your system will slow to a crawl.
