Question about Numark Audio Players & Recorders

Just plugged my numark ndx 200 cd deck in and the volt switch was set to 115v but should have been 240 and it blew the unit can I fix this

Everything can be fixed if there is enough money available but it is unlikely to be economically viable and the money would be better spent on a replacement...

If the fuse blew again then there is more than likely a problem with one or more of the boards components. First start by unscrewing the power supply and looking on the underside, you may see some burn marks. If you do then it is likely that the component above the burn marks has blown and needs to be replaced. If you do not see any burn marks then the best place to start is with the diodes on the board. If its still not working, e.g. the fuse blew again then it may be that the problem lies elsewhere on the power supply... Good luck.

arg... email numark they will give you a uk brach to email - there is a reset facilty that may help you (sorry cant rememeber the buttons it was yonks ago) while it sorted mine 'scratch' is now permanently lit only... they suggested a servide to clear that one prob but got used to cueing the record on that deck in scratch mood which is an art in itself lol

You're best bet is to replace the stock rubber feet with a true vibration absorbing rubber pad. Audiofiles like myself have discovered that Sorbothane rubber is the best for this application. There is no other material that can even come close to matching it's performance. Get yourself a set of their Sorbothane rubber hemispheres, probably something about a 1" diameter would work best. The best place to get them is Amazon.com.

I have a Gecko spapack with 115v supply. I read 115v on both heater connections to ground but 0 volts between the two when heater is supposed to be on. Is this normal?

no it is not check high limit switch isn't it 240 vac unit, if sou refer to troubleshooting guide from mfg.Call mfg for more help

Power Plug Adapter - Converter - 110V - max. 1550W US/Japanese to Australia

You need a stepdown transformer from 240 volts to 110 volts AC.
Make sure you get one that has the required wattage you require.
Jaycar has a 1000W 240 - 115V Cat. No. MF-1086 for $360.00

If you require a higher wattage, try an electrical wholesaler.

I have been given a dell dimension 3000 that has come from america, how do i change 115v to 140v. from rae

You cannot change it without replacing the power sypply. When that machine came from the factory the power supply was designed to operate on 115v or 230v. There is a switch on the back that allows you to do that, but those are the only two choices. You may be able to buy a 140v power supply for that machine on eBay. Otherwise you will have to get one from Dell. You might try contacting a computer store in your country to see if they have one that was pulled out of a dead machine.

I bought two numark ttx usb turntables of ebay with no warranty, they were from the usa. one of the turntables works fine the other did not even turn on at all. i thought it must be that i did't flivk the...

Here is a copy paste from Numark's Quick start owner manual page 3:
3. Voltage Selector:
This switches the internal voltage transformer between 115V, 230V and 240V. The turntable should be shipped with the proper voltage setting for your region. Check that the switch is in the proper voltage before connecting the power cord to prevent damage to the turntable.
At page 2 also there is a diagram showing the exact place for that switch.
So I can't believe that this turntable is stricted for use under 115V. Also, as far as I know from my experience (23 years Electronics Engineer), the only thing that coulg be before the transformer is either the voltage selector switch, or some kind of ac filter. The only case that I'm not sure, is the case that you powered up the turntable at a 230V area and the Numark's voltage selector was set at 115V. In that case the transformer should be burned and the service should replace it and charge you the cost for that.
I think that there is something strange at your case. Why don't you check at another service center at your area?

This is the power supply for your PC, depend on your local country power supply, some country like North US may use 110 V in their daily use electrical stuff and some country like Euro, UK use 240 V.

Your PC power supply is design to suit this 2 type of power input so can be sold everywhere. What u need to do is to make sure your local country power supply voltage and then just switch the input correctly, i think u have done it.

sounds like your blew the first power stage, probally a fried power diode. is there a fuse you can replace? if not it will most probally need componet level troubleshooting/repair.
