Buy this hard start kit. It has a nice manual inside that tells you how to do it as well as color coded wires...it is pretty much fool-proof.

410 a runs at a much higher pressure then r-22. that is still very high. it would take a temperture over 150 degrees to produce it on a idle system.

What is the split pump

A split system has the parts split up between indoors and outdoors. A heat pump heats and cools your living space with the same unit. A split heat pump has the system split between indoors and outdoors and heats or cools your living space. a SPLIT PUMP sounds like something that has broken.

It means the power is off or went off to unit . Check for power then power cycle unit to try and restart .

Fujita 3hp split system Compressor won't start

Ohm out the compressor...if it is new & getting the correct power, should be under warranty. You should not have to install a hard start kit on a new unit.

if you are using a hard wired thermostat, you have one designed for a heat pump. Heat pumps are minimally effective at outdoor temperatures below 30'f. Emergency heat systems are not generally included with any split system, but would be located in the indoor air handler.

Hi, to tell if your unit is a heat-pump or not, if the indoor unit is not gas fired, it is a split system heat pump. If it uses gas or propane gas, its a split system gas/elect unit. Look at your thermostat also. It should have aux heat, emergency heat on it also. Maybe not both, but you will know if you have a heat pump. Please don't forget to rate me. Please be kind, as I know you will. Just remember, no gas, its a heat pump, gas fired furnace indoors, its not a heat pump.

a split system can be gas or can be a heatpump. a split system is when the condenser coil compressor and outdoor fan is outside. the other half is in the house close to your air filter .that well be your air handler. eletric heater. or gas burner .and indoor fan motor would be. i hope that helps you.

Stage 2 is okay as long as there is a fossil-fuel kit accessory wired in the field control wiring. EM heat would only allow gas furnace operation if the thermostat is set for EMER HT mode.......this is not ideal and not recommended. Dual-Fuel applications require a fossil fuel kit.
I'm including a link with information on one type of fossil fuel kit. It explains how it works. If you have limited HVAC service knowledge and/or experience, I recommend having an experienced service technician check your system operation in all modes to ensure proper operation for longer system life at peak operating efficiency.

hi there i just recently completely tore down,cleaned and reassembled this heater it was filled with years builup and looked like had something spilled in it* now it still works but is hardly getting hot is that a link or resistor need replaced?
