how to use a Dell e514dw PRINTER.
NO PC told no OS told windows MAC?
what router,? or what Access POINT wifi?
do you have wifi credentials at hand?

did you lose the free manual ?
do you know your home wifi credentials.>
    SSID name = JohnDoe123 (any)
    encryption allows = WPA2 +
    pass phrase?= Ur*7%[email protected] (example)

I guess using the USB cable is no fun?
    not needing wifi to it

the manuals, are free and at dell, 24/7

    setup guide, 36 pages that?
    page 5 connect, usb cable.
load Dell software for the printer
,ok now wire less. always more hard. for sure not testing home wifi first say with a cell phone, proving it works and you know your credentials.

page 7 wifi, remove the USB cable FIRST.
    load the Dell software from
then run the say wifi setup
that is the easy guide and many folks fail here.
so use the full manual guide.
Dell Multifunction Printer E514dw User's Guide

page 28 and more, there are 2 ways to setup wireless. WPS way if your router does that
or use manual way at the LDC at the printer.
    page 28 covers this.

the his PDF covers all ways to do it.
get the PDF keep it for next time too.
your printer face has a wifi button, see that?

this printer has 3 ways to connect
    ethernet wired.

page 198 on cover wifi connections all ways possible dell, nor me know what wifi you have at home, heck even if you are at home, not a business setup.

this printer seems 5 years old, (as hold as)
and the manual shows WPS connections
that are not allowed now on modern routers or modern AP (access points) it is not a banned feature.. so if you router is new and no WPS button, do not not read those WPS pages in the manual, or go batty.

that was long answer short of not pasting all that here.
the short answer is read the manual
or tell what router you have (and PC & OS or if MAC)
and tell if you know your wifi credentials.
even till (omg) do you own that router wifi or is owned and locked down by the ISP.
if is is their router only they know the wifi
    credentials (locked) call them ask.
or look on back of router see sticker from ISP there stated , credentials just for your home.

or use USB connection not wifi
then on unstated PC set up a share to your printer.
hint #2 some Printer must be reset to switch from connection modes.
    wifi/ethernet wired,or usb.
this is covered in the manual how to.

if you just found a printer, used
reset it first. per the manual.
this always works if the printer is still good.
2015 is oldest one I think.

    also the rules. (1 example)
install the dell printer driver package first
    not last.
then plug in the USB cable to printer #2
    bingo, that easy.
wifi is more tricky for sure NOT KNOWING your WIFI credentials going in.

Start by pressing the menu button, select System, select Admin Menu, select Network, Select Wireless Setup, select your network from the list, then enter your network passphrase. Print a Settings Report to confirm the printer has successfully joined your wireless network.

How i setup for wireless

If you go here:
Product Support Dell US

you can click on the "PDF" link next to Manuals, and the manual will be downloaded to your browser. It can then be saved to your computer for future reference.
Pages 30 to 35 give displays all the settings for wireless operation, you need to enter the correct settings for your wireless network and the printer should work.
You may find it easier to connect the printer via USB and then use the setup CD to setup wireless for the printer which will then allow you to disconnect USB & start using wireless. This is on pages 92 & following.

I'm trying to install a wireless router for my laptop using the High speed internet land line connection. The D-Link DIR-601 displays a message that say's 'Router Setup cannot run over a wireless...

The router is clear (Router Setup cannot run over a wireless connection) NEVER try to setup the wireless settings trough the wireless connection on ANNY router (I'm impressed it is a verry intelligent router) a lot of routers will permit wireless setup trough wireless but obviously this one wont

Connect a CAT5 patch cable from one of the router's ethernet ports to your computer, than setup your wireless connection...

Have fun

My Dell lattitude D830 won't connect with linksys

Right-click the wireless icon with red X and click on View Available wireless networks. Highlight the name of your wireless network and click Connect. If it asks you for the network key, type in the secuirty key of the router and press connect. That should do it. If you don't know the wireless security key of the router, you can see it by accessing the router's Setup Page through on your browser. It's under wireless tab then wireless security sub tab

US Robotics Wireless Router problem

Sounds like some settings on the wireless router might be setup DNS. While hooked into wireless, try going to a command prompt and type ipconfig /renew. Once it refreshes, type in ipconfig /flushdns. Try the Internet.

If that doesn't work then check the settings on the wireless router and see if the DHCP is setup with a static IP or dynamic one.

Depending on what that says, I can provide next steps.

Your did not provide any info on which card you have or wish to install; USB, PC Card, or internal mini PCI card.

For mini PCI cards, first you have to open up the D600 laptop and install the Hardware (ensure to connect the antenna cables) then power-up and install the software (drivers and utility).

For USB and PC Cards, follow the device manufacture's recommended steps. Generally, for USB devices, the software (drivers and utility) needs to installed first before the hardware is connected.

If you have successfully installed the hardware and software (driver/utility) you can scan, choose and connect to an available wireless access point or wireless ad-hoc setup. This can be done through the wireless manufacture's utility or from Windows Wireless Zero Configuration utility. If you use the manafucature's utility, Windows Wireless Zero Configuration utility will not work; will not scan or list available wireless network.
