Can you see, like, a "shadow" of the desktop if you hold a flashlight up to the screen? If so the backlight on your display has burned out and you need to replace your display screen.

Is the charge LED light on when you connect the adapter? Can you hear the hard disk spin up and the hard disk LED light flash? Does the laptop appear to bootup? Can up see a dim image on the LCD screen when you view it at a sharp angle?
