Why is my Kitchenaid dishwasher model KUDS01DJSS0 pump making loud humming noise? Pump motor suddenly began making loud humming noise when running. (not so bad when draining).

I opened up the interior pump/drain and grinder assemblies and cleaned out accumulated crud, bits of broken glass, and a few small rocks. Re-assembled and ran the machine. noise level has not changed.

Some dishwashers have a soft food disposal inside. If something is hung up, it will grind or hum for a long time. If this is the problem, it will eventually go away.

Thanks. I dug deeper and found defective impeller gasket and cracked plastic impeller shaft. Replaced both and operating normal again.

No a noise filter is a different kettle of fish. That stops electrical interference noise from affecting your television, radios and electrical devices.

The most likely source of the hum is the start capacitor on the motor, or the motor itself.

The wash pumo and drain pump are different. So it is likely the wash pump is choked and trips or the motor is faulty.

loud motor noises during the wash cycle usually come from a water pump. Either the water pump will stop working soon, or it will keep working for a while longer, and the unit will stop cleaning. Sometimes the pump will stop making the noise for a while before it stops.

The LG does suffer from "poor quality" motor that causes this type of noise. The main motor and pump assembly is common to give this type of problem. The pump seal leaks a small amount of water that gets onto the front bearing and causes a "grinding = humming" noise. This can be easly replaced once you have the bottom off and dishwasher on its door. The motoe has 1 screw in the back holding the motor to the bottom and two rubber seals for the water pump in/out into the washer. Just pull and move motor and pump assmbly and it comes free. Replace with a new motor and pump assembly...

The humming sound is coming from the drive motor running but unable to drive the agitator nor the basket to spin. The drive motor is definitely running as the drain function works because of the fact that drain pump is directly coupled with the rear spline of the motor. The drain pump works in either direction as long as the motor runs. The problem is obviously a broken motor coupler which transfers the mechanical energy of the motor to the transmission. Kitchenaid Whisper Quiet + dishwasher making loud humming noise

Very likely pump motor shaft seal leaks water into bearing casing buildup of rust and consequently noise. I just replaced $112 worth of pump assy and it's back to normal. I would also buy repair manual for $10 on-line to be sure how to disassemble the sump to get to the pump.

Loud Humming noise every time we run the dishwasher

Hi, I had this exact same problem. In my situation it turned out to be the pump that pumps out all of the used water. It was rubbing up against the floor so that every time it turned on it made a loud vibrating sound. I just reached under the washer and put a piece of rubber between it and the floor and it solved the problem.

Maytag 100 series

If the unit is just humming and then cuts itself off, you could have a defective motor. However, this same symptom could be caused by something being caught in the pump assembly.

KitchenAid KUDS01FL - All lights on the panel remain on I had a case where the Clean light was blinking 7 times. 1. I did a rest by hitting Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry, Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry. I then closed the door and opened it again. 2. I then pressed Cancel and everything seemed to be okay. 3. I tried to run the dishwasher by using Normal and Energy Saver. I ran the hot water before starting. It seemed to work but then stopped mid cycle. 4. The panel Clean light was then blinking 7 times. 5. I repeated Step 2 . This time when I hit Cancel, all of the lights remained on. I can't turn off the lights. I tried shutting down power to the dishwasher and turning it back on. All of the lights remain lit. Please help. Many thanks!

KitchenAid Dishwasher KUDS35FXSS9 black film/haze For over a year now when we run our dishwasher it gets black film/haze only on the bottom & inside of the door, but it doesn't get on the dishes & they seem to clean fine. When you wipe it with a paper towel it a blackish/maybe hint of purple color. It's not slimy like when stuff builds up at the door bottom corners & doesn't have any sediment or anything in it. Not clogged with food in the basket & seems to drain fine. No smell either. I have done all the vinegar, cleaning tricks, and switched detergents. Any ideas?
