I have a DF6SFX48K120C unit. The blower motor is freely moving but can't quite get started to blow cold air. wondering if this isa starting capacitor issue in the blower unit. Thoughts?

It moves a little but will not fully engage. This is a Frigidaire package unit made by nordyne.

That is a possibility. A relay may not be kicking in. But if you hear the compressor running then you could also be low on freon. Have an A/C tech have a look. On hot days like today in AZ it's better to spend a little and be cool faster.

My a/c in my Mercury Milan quit working

Did the blower motor quit blowing or did the air quit getting cold?If the air is not cold, check to see if your compressor is engaged. If it is not, then you may have a refrigerant problem or an electrical problem . You will need to determine which problem it is before you can solve your air conditioning problem.. If the blower does not blow, Locate the blower motor and if possible, with the key on and the a/c switch on , tap the blower motor. If it starts working, replace it. If it does not, you will need to look for an electrical problem.

Why did SPT Portable Air Conditioner stopped blowing cold air?

Unit needs to be taken apart and washed out , also check to see if motor turns freely by hand , clean base of unit fans / blowers and drain ports / channels . Check outdoor motor to see if bearings are tight or fan overheats and cuts off if so replace outdoor motor .

Heater does not blow warm or cold ....you can feel the air but does not blow

Had a similar problem with my friends 2002 Silverado, first the blower motor started making funny noises and then quit working. Cost $45 to replace.

Before getting a replacement, check fuses and relays related to that circuit and make sure there is power going into the blower motor.

Good Luck

Blower motor wont start

Every air conditioner is equipped with at least two motors, the compressor and the fan motor. It is possible for the fan motor to be defective and the compressor to be running. If this is the case the unit will appear to be running and may even sound "normal" but no air is blowing out the front or back of the unit. If, after removing the cover of the unit you discover the fan blade is very stiff and difficult to rotate, the fan motor should be replaced. If the fan blade turns freely the circuit powering the fan motor will require electrical troubleshooting. It may be necessary to have a qualified technician locate the cause of the problem, which may be either a problem with the capacitor, the selector switch or the motor itself.

Furnace Blower stops working after 15 minutes

Replace the blower motor. Cleaning of the blower and motor will help in the moving of more air but will NOT eliminate the real problem in the motor bearings. Over time the lubrication will dry out and bearing wear results.

Air conditioner

Turn off unit supply and check the blower wheel inside the indoor unit by rotating it manually by your finger if the blower wheel rotates freely then there is something wrong with your fan motor or fan motor capacitor. But if the blower wheel is not rotating freely try to check the fan motor for lubrication or some bushing dried of and no oil
