No remote TV says key lock how do I reset TV cos it's blank bit can still pick out key lock word

Hi, I don't actually know how to unlock your specific TV. But here is a basic guide to unlock your tv.

1)Turn on the TV and grab the remote.
2)Look at the screen. If you see a blank screen with a red key on the bottom of the screen, press 'Function' and 'Mute' at the same time. This should unlock the channel. This should unlock the channel. This is an option for people who want the TV to stay locked out, want to be able to bypass the lock to watch a certain show or channel. All others channels will remain locked and the TV will fully lock when it is turned off.
3)Unlock all of the channels on the TV by entering the factory reset code. There are 3 main reset codes that TV Manufacturers set. These are 0711, 6688 and 3308. Try each one until you find the one that works. This will factory reset the TV.
4)Call the technical support service number in your owners manual if none of those codes work. A technician can help you troubleshoot the television because the problem may not be the locking control. When you call, make sure you have the model number and the serial number.
5)Or take it to a TV repair shop.

Omni TVs have a child lock that allows parents to prevent children from watching specific channels or television shows with certain ratings. To activate or deactivate the controls, you need the four digit pass code. If you forget the pass code or if the lock gets set accidentally, you can still unlock the TV.

Unfortunately you didnt tell me what kinda of lock this is.
IE 1) Trigger Lock 2) Cable Lock

Now from what i understand about them, for 1 unless you spent high end dollars on your lock its a piece of garbage anyway. Read this page

First method id try is "bumping" (this is going to be the cheapest method for you without resorting to a locksmith or destruction of the lock.

"Bumping" involves using blank keys to effectively pick locks. Watch this You Tube Video

In order for you to try this you would have to go to the place that sells your model gun lock. ask them if they have extra keys, if not i know locks that tend to be simple (4 pin locks like trigger locks) dont have that many combitnations and if you went through 20 boxes (if you are able to do this at a local store) you WOULD find a key to use that would fit yours.

NOTE if you cannot obtain a key blank @ the local shop go to the local locksmith shop, tell them you want a blank for it, see if they can provide it (i have no clue) (most likely though unless its one of those insanely weird key types)

2) Still a cheaper method would be probably to destroy the lock (irregardless of this locks price, scope out a new lock and see how much that would cost and call a locksmith and ask what picking and re key ing your lock would cost)

3) You could if in the right area of the world, obtain your own lock pick set ( a simple set will work here), and pick the lock yourself. LESSON to pick a lock you a few tools and will always be using 2 @ a time.) for 1 you need a tension wrench this is a tool that allows you to apply tension into the inner cylinder (imaging when you spin your key what way the key spins, you need to apply force in that direction) NOTE just a little bit. the reason for this is it creates a pinching zone inbetween the two cylinders in the lock (the pins are what bind them together). With the right pressure on the cyclinder with your torque wrench you can "rake" the pins (scrape them up) hoping that as they go up they dont come down. (NOTE some pins have 3 pins and fake pins and are set up in a way that makes them hard to pick try and determine which pins are longest first)

NOTE when a lock is in the open position it is easier for a locksmith to fabricate a key :)

in most cases you need to unplug over night then the code would be reset to factory 0000 when it starts back up.

You can either pick or drill out the lock. I would recommend trying your lock picking skills first- there's nothing to lose! I use a small flat blade screw driver and a straightened out paper clip. (you can google how to pick a lock. The locks that use the round key can be picked easily too.)

Make sure the power is unplugged from the PC. If it is a slot keyhole you should be able to drill out the center usind a 1/4" drill bit. You can do something similar to the round keyhole locks also.

Answer:According to Apex, you can disable the parental lock using the following information.

• If you have a blank screen with a red key on the bottom left, simply press the (function or F) button and the mute button at the same time. This will unlock the screen and allow you to view the channel as desired.
  
  
• If your TV asks for a 4-digit code or password please enter 3308 or 6688 to unlock the screen or reset any preset rating levels.
  
  
• If you have a GT2011J or GT2011S Television, hold the (Display) button for 10 seconds, it will unlock the screen. If password or code is requested, try 3308 or 6688.

One of the above methods should get you past the lock. If so, I would take the opportunity to disable the lock in the TV's menu so this doesn't happen again.

i picked up the remote control an it lock the tv so i unplug it to try to rest it an u can turn it on at all
