Question about Mitsubishi Televison & Video
This unit uses a DLP (digital light processor) chip and if this starts to fail then you will get spots appearing on the screen. The DLP chip will need to be replaced.

You are not the first person I have seen who replaced the display chip and had fubar after--1,2 is no error found.
You might want to do a little more research: Mitsubishi when changing the optical engine has a procedure so the engine can communicate with the digital circuit in the set--opps!
By the way the reset on the front is only a boot up for the set--set also has a hidden option menu for a hard reset of the entire set to factory defaults.
tried that one?

SOURCE: I have a Mits. WD-73C9 dlp tv. TV comes on with great picture for 30-45 seconds and then shuts off with a solid yellow led light, which means DLP chip overheating. lamp and dlp chip fans are working
Have you checked DLP termistor?
