Older refrigerator, Freon leak. Tech could not tell me where the leak is occurring. Matches up to all of my other appliances. Any chance of repairing and keeping it running a few years longer?

Usually not cost effective to repair and re-gas, might as well purchase a new one!

SOURCE: whirlpool refrigerator with freezer on

The drain line that comes through the casing may be plugged or the trap at the bottom of the hose where it drains into the drain pan under the refrigerator may be plugged. If water is freezing it is because it is being held back by a restriction.

SOURCE: How can you tell if your coolant has leaked out of your refrigerator?

Freon is a clear gas while at room tempertaure.
You would not see it.
Freon leakage is normally one of the last things to go wrong with a fridge.
You may want a second opinion.

SOURCE: freon leak in refrigerator?

no refrigerant leaks have little to no odor and if it was leaking bad enough to smell it the unit would be out of refrigerant and not cooling...the problem sounds like gases coming off of a veggie of something un-covered inside the fridge--have you put any veggies in the fridge or freezer un-covered check real good if one or a piece of something has fallen behind something else where you cannot see...all else fails remove all your products from the unit and clean and get a box of odor control arm&hammer to rid the smell..as for a leak in the sealed system i think your just fine.

I need to add freon to my lg refridgerator

you wont be able to buy freon unless you are certified hvac/refridge tech. Also, if you need freon it means there is a leak and you would be wasting a lot of money ( freon is xpensive ) cant tell from pic how big fridge is but you may be able to take it to an appliance repair site and save money on a service call.

Fridge and freezer both stopped working.Lights still on.

check lines for leaks, check all components. If the compressors kicks on then check lines if the compressor doesn't then that's a potential problem as well. If everything; lines, compressor and expansion canister are looking good then your out of freon, it is the gas that is used to transfer heat from the compartments to outside. Having no freon further tells you that you have a leak, since freon is expensive depending on how much your appliance requires, its best to check everything first before you start removing parts from the appliance

Only upper section of the freezer works, heavy ice-buildup.

Hi,

The symptoms you are describing are typically from a refrigerant (freon) leak. Unfortunately it will be as simple as adding new refrigerant as it will just leak out. The leak will need to be repaired. From my experience with this unit my best guess is that the evaporator coils would need replaced. An average repair cost for this type of repair would be around $400.00.

I hope this helps.

A.c. not blowing cold

First off you 2006 vehicle contains no Freon R12. It contains R134 refrigerant. You have a leak or you would not need to add refrigerant. It is illegal to add refrigerant without repairing the leak. Take it to a trusted A/C specialist and have the leak repaired. They have the proper tools and expertise to add the correct amount and repair the leak.

Condensation and water in refrigerator

It sounds like you need someone who knows what they are doing out to your house. A tech should find and repair or replace the component that leaks. A second trip should be not be needed. The fact you have mold tells me they have never properly did your repair. Mold will grow only when the cavity gets above 40 degrees for a sustained period of time. use http://www.subzero.com/locator/locator.aspx?type=0&zip=02030 or call 800-222-7820 and explain the situation and get another company to fix it right.
