When you performed the power cycle did you make sure all accessories were disconnected?
Also plug the TV directly into a wall mains socket, not through an extension lead or socket!
Repeat this test at least 3 times or until the TV powers up.

Testimonial: "Thanks Mikey; blinking stopped, but now TV is all dead. Only visible sign of life is power on USB port. Tried unlpugging for hours, back in, etc. 5 times. Sounds like end of life for this 8 year old TV..."

SOURCE: please help

That is the blink code for the lamp ballast. Here is the more complicated explanation from the service manual.

IC2301(pin11) detects the error of LCD Power C.B.A. and Lamp,
then indicates the error when an inner malfunction of LCD Power
C.B.A. occurs, the Lamp voltage becomes more than 130V or
less than 30V, Lamp current becomes more than 5A, or the Lamp is blown

Hope this helps.

Screen will not come on when trying to power it up. the power button blinks red 7 times, then pauses, then blinks 7 more times. it will repeat this process over and over. t.v. will not come on...help!!!!

The blinking seven times is a fault code to locate which area of the TV has developed a problem, this is a protection mode to prevent further damage. I would need to know what model of TV you have to try & give you an idea of which section of the TV is at fault. This could be a power start up or scanning fault.

Red light blinking

You have a bad main board most likely. You can try unpluging it for 5 minutes.

Philips 37PF9431D/37 No Picture

While I can't tell you what this particular code means I know from experience that power boards fail frequently commonly on those TVs. Do you hear a clicking of the power supply first on and then off after a few seconds?

There's a guy or a company on eBay that offers trade-in for faulty power supplys, you should check them out:
http://stores.shop.ebay.com/TechFetch

Search for 37'' Philips in the title or contact them to ask about it. Used to be $99 flat including return shipping.
