I have a Samsung UA49NU7100, Series 7 UHD TV with a bright spot, is it water damaged?

The bright spot is in the middle of the TV circlish line shaped. I had a technician visit, but without even turning the TV, he saw some smudges of cleaning towel on external part of screen and made a decision it is water damage. It was obvious he was trying to devoid the warranty to not fix it. Please note that the last time I cleaned it with a wet towel was at least 8 months and it is the way the manual recommends to clean the TV. The entire TV is behaving normally, sound is okay, all parts (wifi, sockets...etc) are working fine, so I doubt it is anything in the board, the entire screen is working well also, only the bright part, but no other sides that have blurs, or signs of creeping water. The spot is 1-2 inch in size and it is not completely dead, it shows the image, but brighter.

Sounds like an imperfection in one of the layers of the screen, this can be resolved by dismantling the screen and cleaning the layers in a dust free environment...... so in everyday terms this should be done under warranty.

As for water damage.... unless the patch starts from the outer edge of the screen it is highly unlikely to be caused by water damage in my opinion.

SOURCE: toshiba 2060 marks on papaer

There is no such paper for copiers that I know of in 18 years. What you can do is try to run some blank pages throw the copier. This can tell 2 things if the line gets lighter in may be in the fixing ***'y and the upper fusing roller is shoot, needs to be replaced and or if it dose not clear up you may need a cleaning blade for the drum(OPC) and or the drum and blade as a set. It depends on how old the parts are? You may need to replace all 3 items and a general cleaning. Here is a idea for you are you running LTR or LTR-R you may be able to switch the paper arould to avoid the line all togather. Good Luck.... You may need a service call on the copier. With the age of the copier I might just go with the cheap fix first.

SOURCE: Grease, or some substance on clean clothes

You need to thouroughly clean the large door seal in all of its grooves and the inside of the door as well. Just put on gloves and use detergent to do this and rags or pape rtowels. Also make sure the inside of the tub is clean and that you are not overfilling the washer. Good luck.

SOURCE: Screen damaged from fall, colored vert lines on left side from the damge

Unfortunately the LCD panel would need to be replaced. Even if there is not any signs of damage to the outside portion of the panel, one of the inner screens may have been fractured. I am not sure if the panel would be available because if i'm not mistaken Sharp just started making replacement panels.

SOURCE: smudge looking marks onscreen

If you suddenly noticed it, this is most likely caused by a large piece of dust on the lens. It is hard to clean, you would need to take the whole TV apart in order to get to the lens (mounted on the optical block).

It could also be caused by a failure of the optical block, which had inherent issues. There is a pending class action law suit against Sony for problems with optical block that include smudges, hazes, and tints that appear after a certain number of hours.

Other causes could be a dirty portion of the mirror or a smudge on the inside part of the screen but these are rare because dust and contaminants do not usually accumulate on these parts of the TV.

Vertical 5" wide dark band in middle of screen

A 5" wide dark band in the middle of a Samsung Smart Series 7 TV screen could be caused by several issues. Here are a few potential causes and solutions:
  1. Faulty LCD Panel: If the LCD panel is damaged, it may cause a dark band in the middle of the screen. Unfortunately, a damaged LCD panel usually requires a professional repair or replacement, which can be expensive.
  2. Loose or Damaged Connection: A loose or damaged connection between the TV's internal components could cause a dark band on the screen. Check all of the cables and connections between the TV and any external devices to ensure they are properly connected and undamaged.
  3. Picture Settings: The dark band could be caused by the TV's picture settings. Try adjusting the picture settings to see if it improves the image. For example, you could try adjusting the brightness, contrast, or sharpness.
  4. Software Update: A software issue could cause a dark band on the screen. Check if there is a software update available for your TV and install it if necessary.
  5. Magnetic Interference: If there is a strong magnetic field near the TV, it could cause a dark band on the screen. Try moving any magnets or magnetic devices away from the TV to see if it improves the image.
If none of these solutions work, it may be best to contact a professional TV repair technician who can diagnose and fix the issue. They can ensure that the repair is done correctly and safely, and can help prevent further damage to the TV.

Hey I have a Samsung uhd series 8. It keeps turning on and off and won't respond to a remote. Not even 2 yrs old and never been hit.

Hi,

It might be dangerous to attempt to change internal parts of your tv, please consider calling your local Geeksquad/Bestbuy at 1 (800) 433-5778 in order to diagnose the tv issue ...after you've performed a factory reset on the tv and disconnected all unnecessary external cables.

Thank you.

How do I turn on Bluetooth on my new Samsung uhd tv series 7?

Do you need the Bluetooth?
Most devices now connect via your home Wi-Fi network and you can cast between devices that way which is much quicker than Bluetooth.
If you are struggling to CAST, go onto your TV MENU,
Down to NETWORK,
Multimedia Device Manager,
This will list allowed devices, if none go back a step RETURN button,
Go to Screen Mirroring and follow the setup process.

Hope this helps.
