Pioneer VSX-1131 NG:LCRSLSRBLBR Detect Protect:I Was listening to music and then this popped up. It’s 2 years old so no warranty. I’ve tried to reset it, goes into diag mode and then same error. nothing is plugged into it anymore. It’s pretty much frozen in this state from what I can tell. Can’t update or anything for that matter. I’m a novice when it comes to these but I’m not afraid to try and figure it out lol. I have taken it all apart and have looked the boards over. I do not see anything burnt or out of the ordinary just by looking at it. I have my multi meter but am not sure where to start. Would anyone have some guidance as to where I should begin testing?

Your Pioneer unit has gone into protect mode because of component failure. Use your multimeter to check continuity and voltages at the component level. Also check for cold solder joints.

I have a Pioneer Elite VSX 503 it went into 'Protect Mode'.

Question edited for clarity and typos.

The first link has reset information. It would also remove the case and vacuum out any dust. Also see if there is a cooling fan in there anywhere.

I cannot resolve the Pioneer VSX-1131 error code after multiple troubleshooting attempts: NG:LCRSLSRBLBR

Hi, what the error code is telling you, NG: LCRSLSRBLBR, is that due to some output problem or power supply, the speaker outputs are not working, NG by Non Good, L by Left, C by Center, R by Right, SL by Surround Left, SR by Surround Right, BL by Back Left and BR by Back Right
I suggest you check all speaker connections, disconnect all speakers and see that this is the same, the problem is in the computer, if it does not indicate failure, then go connecting the speakers one by one until the fault appears again and in that last speaker connected, the fault could be, try all the speakers
I hope you can solve the problem, but look for a specialized technical service
Greetings Franco Dosil

My onkyo tx-rz810 keeps going toDet.pretction mode how do I get it out of that mode

Does the display show you are in protect mode , or is a light indicating that? The unit automatically switches to standby when the
"Hardware" - "Power Management" - "Auto Standby"
setting in the Setup menu functions are set. The protective circuit function may have been activated.
If this has occurred, "AMP Diag Mode" appears on the
display when the unit is turned on again, and the unit
enters diagnostic mode. If the results of the diagnosis is
that there is no problem, the "AMP Diag Mode" display
disappears and you can use the unit normally again. If
"CHECK SP WIRE" appears on the display, the speaker
cables may be short-circuited. Make sure bare speaker
wires are not touching each other or the back panel of
the unit, then turn the unit on again. If "NG" is displayed,
immediately unplug the power cord from the wall outlet
and contact your dealer.
• The protective circuit function may have been activated
because the temperature of the unit rose abnormally.
If this happens, then the power will continue to turn off
after you have turned the unit on again. Make sure the
unit has plenty of space for ventilation around it, wait for
the unit to cool down sufficiently, and then try turning it
on again. This is out of your users manual.

General suggestions are to remove all speakers and speaker wiring with unit off. Turn on and see if problem has stopped. If not, let unit cool down if warm and try again later. If problem is still there it needs repair shop work. I fht problem went away, shut off power and connect one speaker at a time and testing. Keep adding speakers one at a time with power off and see if a bad speaker or wire set can be located

Plays only mono when listening to music

I lot could depend on how the music source has been connected to the receiver. If you are using a stereo CD player then you may need to check if it is configured to send audio in stereo mode and not mono. The input source selection for the audio is given in page 26 of the manual.
You can go to the setting menu in Receiver and configure the speakers settings according to which ones you have installed.
Also refer page 25 in the manual to over ride speaker configuration if it is not showing correct.

Do you have a schematic for Pioneer VSX-37TX?

I don't have a schematic for this model but you can listen when the problem starts and you can isolate it by using a can of freeze spray into the amplifier section when the noise disappears try heating the ares until the noise starts again until you zero in on the defective component .replace the defective component and you are all set.

I have a Pioneer VSX-D411 and there is dsp ng flashing, what is it

http://www.retrevo.com/support/Pioneer-VSX-D411-Receivers-manual/id/385ci976/t/2/

I believe it's trying to tell you something is wrong with its digital sound processing.

This was the best source I could find on it:
http://www.avforums.com/forums/av-amplifiers-receivers/381823-problem-pio-vsx811s-no-sound-display-says-dsp-ng.html

If you switch it to satereo / direct and the light goes out I'd say that would clinch it.

Speakers for pioneer vsx 1018

I think you're making this way more complex than it is.

This unit should have no trouble with any reputable speaker. Don't read too much into short term impedance readings as long as you run only one speaker per channel. Every speaker has a dip somewhere in its frequency range and the Pioneer will probably protect itself and the speaker should impedance or current get too out of whack. This is a high end unit and has plenty of clean power to feed any speakers out there.

I'd buy it if I didn't already have a 6-year old predecessor (VSX-T36TX) that I paid twice as much for and has only 5 amplified channels, less features and lower power output. ;-(

Good luck and happy listening!
