Kelvinator Dishwasher KD12WW takes water and then suddenly stops. We did replace the inlet valve and still does the same

You can try resetting it by unpluging it or shuting it off at the breaker for 5 minutes.

Most all dishwashers have what looks like a air hockey striker. This is the float. It should move freely up and down. Not to much travel.
Next would check for a faulty water inlet valve.
These in my opinion would be the two most likely culprits.

The drain pump automatically runs when the FE code is displayed. A leaking water inlet valve or a stuck relay on the electronic control board can allow water to fill the dishwasher constantly. To check for a leaky water inlet valve, unplug the dishwasher and see if the tub continues to fill with water. If it does, shut off the water supply and replace the water inlet valve because the valve is letting water to flow into the dishwasher constantly. If water stops filling when you unplug the dishwasher, then you'll likely need to replace the electronic control board because the control board is constantly sending current to the water inlet valve

I notice that one of the instructions is quote" when using your dishwasher , you should prevent plastic items from contacting the heating element" un quote
most all dishwashers heat their own water above what human hands can stand so from that statement you can use cold water inlet only and the machine will heat it to operating temperature

call your local kelvinator service agent and ask them about a heating element

(1) The water inlet valve is an electrically-controlled valve that opens to allow water to enter the dishwasher. Depending on the model, the valve stays open either for a set length of time or until the dishwasher has enough water. However, if the water inlet valve doesn't shut off after the dishwasher has enough water, the dishwasher will overflow. If water drips into the dishwasher when the door is open, or if water collects at the bottom of the dishwasher while it is not use, you may need to replace the water inlet valve.
(2) The float switch actuates in order to prevent the dishwasher from overflowing. If the float switch is defective or stuck, it might not stop the dishwasher from overflowing. If the float switch is defective, replace it.
One would need the model number of your machine.

Need to check if Rinse Aid is not exhausted in the dispenser. It could also be necessary to increase the flow rate of rinse aid. Also make sure the dishwasher is heating water as some dishwashers use steam to dry. If heater is faulty the steam will not be there.

TURN ELECTRIC OFF .....top lid off x2 screws on lid....remove water inlet pipe...TURN WATER OFF FIRST :)....undo or unclip on valve...unclamp water clamp on hose ... take off hose ...reomove valve..refit new part ..refit hoses .... test .

The Water Supply Tap is closed. The Water Supply is shut off. The Inlet Hose is kinked. The Water Pressure is very low. (below 10 psi) Inlet Valve is OK? The filter of Inlet Valve is clogged by impure water. The Hall sensor is OK? The Impeller of Air Guide is bound.
Take action on Water Supply device. Measure the electric resistance of Inlet Valve. (950-1300 ) Clean the filter of Inlet Valve. Check the frequency of Inlet Water by the Test Mode. Replace the Air Braker.
