Try resetting the unit (these products are prone to not working). The reset button is located on the back. You will need a paperclip to poke it (it's very tiny).
If it still doesn't work, I'd next suspect the charger unit. You could test using a VOM or 12 volt tester.
Lastly the unit would need be returned to the manufacturer for repair. (In warranty)?

Im on my 3rd batter now on two nooks here.
they last 2 to 3 years max, and then need charging every day (pain) so is simply replaced, and I did OURS 6 times (2x3)
the charger is USB cable (as in just wires)
there is no LINE power pack charger here the charge chip is DEEP in side and is soldered down and not users replaceable.
mine I use a powerful 2amp 5vdc USB power port in the wall to charge mine fast. but any PC with USB works , but may be slower, (usb1,2 slow)
USB3 and USB-c faster.
i googled look books and find ZERO hardware on earth with that name. sorry.

tablets, NOOK and Kindle.
The nook is just dedicated tablet.
and batteries fail and fail often.
In fact I have laptop dell modern
with NOOK app loaded and I do not need real NOOK. I have both., and tons of ebooks.
