The picture shouldbe free of vertical or horizontal lines.

  1. If the lines are present on the TV screen, press the SMARTbutton. on the remote control and select Settings> SUPPORT > Picture Test.
  2. This menu will appear on the test picture. Select whichoption best describes the result you have.

A single set of horizontal lines could indicate damage, a graphics system failure, or loose internal video cables. Broken signals from cables or graphics hardware creates impurities in reproducing an image on an LCD screen, conditions that often manifest in the form of vertical or horizontal lines of color. https://itstillworks.com/causes-horizontal-lines-lcd-panel-37988.html

it would be easier to find it stripped from a damaged set on ebay.
I see several there but need the part number to search
of course you may purchase that and find it to be the lcd driver.hopefully not.

SOURCE: TLM 2619 MODEL-DISPLAY PROBLEM

Hi,

Hi,

The most common cause for the loss of picture is a bad Horizontal Output Transistor (HOT). but I would suggest you get a detailed estimate. I think that this would cost you about $60.

The horizontal lines means the vertical amplifier or deflection system has failed. There are over 100 components in this section and any one of them, or most of them can be at fault. However, the most common failure is the VOT or vertical output transistor (which is often buried inside a chip).

The repair will cost around $250 plus or minus.

FEW TROUBLESHOOTING STEPS YOU CAN TRY:

ONE: Do a hard reset (just to make sure there is nothing in the coding that is fowling things up). Unplug the power cord; leave it disconnected for 4 hours. That will restore everything to factory defaults when you power it back up.

TWO: Do the "whacking test" by banging your fist on a few strategic places to see if there are any cold solder joints or loose wires acting up inside the set.

If the above steps don't solve ur problem then I suggest you to go for a repair..

Goodluck..

If the screen works for a short while and then completely fails once the TV warms up you have a problem with the main unit video board or the LCD control logic board. Most often if the picture cuts out but audio continues to work the logic board is over heating and should be replaced. However if the picture cuts out and audio shuts off as well then its your video input board.

What is Horizontal scan output fault? is HOT is faulty or other problem?

Horizontal scan is the scanning left to right on the screen to make up the width of the picture. The height of the picture works the same. This is not an easy thing to repair. You will have to find someone wit the experience to troubleshoot it.
sorry but hope this explains a little.

TV has a great picture but wont "hold it". Keeps going to a single flat horizontal line across the middle of the screen. Tapping on side of TV used to bring it back but now, nothing. Just a line.

Vertical scan output section circuit fault. Absence of vertical scan causes the single horizontal line on screen. Horizontal scan output section is OK. Contact any service technician to troubleshoot the vertical scan output section circuit. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. My tv sony kv-xa21m61 display too bright and many horizontal lines. no picture

Vertical retrace lines is the problem. Thin white lines runs across the entire screen, at about an inch apart to each other. Check its video output supply voltage. Reduce the screen voltage to a little bit down and check. If you still wish to know more about this fault, check this site. Pull up older posts there.

White horizontal lines on top of screen

Replace all the electrolytic capacitors in the vertical output section circuit. There will be 5 or 6 of them. Replace the at one time. The fault you see is technically called " vertical retrace lies".

Why do i have white lines on my 26

Hello
The fault is with the vertical output section of the TV. The lines you see at the top side, is technically called 'vertical retrace' lines. The main cause to this fulat is with electgrolytic capcitors at the vertical output section. Repalce all the electrolytic capacitors at this section. There will be 5 or 6 numbers of them. Repalce all at the same time. This must solve the problem to your TV.

IM A TV TECH. I HAVE A SONY LCD KP-60XBR800 I HAVE NO RASTER. POWER OK, MENU OK BUT NO RASTER ON TUNER, TUNER VOLTS OK,CAN YOU HELP ME PLEASE. THANKS my email [email protected]

check the high voltage with the screen control turned up high where there is no raster. suspect problem within the video circuit where there is no high voltage or defective picture tube.some time when the screen is black and the screen control advanced, you can see if the tv has video or vertical or horizontal problems on the screen.service the high voltage circuit if there is no raster or high voltage is seen.no raster can be caused by the no heater or filament in the CRT.---- a defective picture tube can cause many problems, such as, poor brightness ,missing colors, intermittent picture, poor focus,a single-colored raster, arching in the gun assembly, retrace lines in the picture, negative picture, chassis shutdown, noheater or filament lit and no raster to name a few.an open filament or heater can cause no picture or no raster symptom.a defective CRT can have an extremely bright screen.loose particles of the cathode element can lodge between the grids and cause an intermittent black and white picture. simply tap the ends of the CRT gun assembly and notice if the picture begins to flash off and on.---- with a leaky picture tube after turn on the raster dims and get extremely bright.a dim picture with no green in the raster can result from a bad green assembly. a heater-to-cathode short can cause a raster to change colour or a result in no raster at all.replace the picture tube if there is severe arching in the neck of CRT. excessive brightness with retrace lines and a vertical collapse to a thin line can be caused by a bad coil on the neck board of the picture tube.rejuvenate the picture tube when there is very bright green screen. check for the resistance change on the resistors of the CRT neck board for an excessively bright picture with retrace lines.excessive dust inside the CRT spark gaps within the picture tube socket can cause the very bright raster and the chassis shutdown.a defective video amp, luminance buffer,or reference transistor can cause a bright picture with retrace lines. -------- for getting any required parts to replace you can get it from www.radioshack.com or from www.partstore.com or from www.shopjimmy.com --------- thanks.please do rate the solution.thank you for using fixya.keep updated.
