SOURCE: maytag washer goes off balance

Several shock absorbers are used to internally balance the basket. Most likely they need to be replaced. It is a typical malfunction. Not expensive and can be done quickly by experienced DIY guy.

If you are sure that the load sensor is not the problem then you really need to get a service person to try to correct. The side rotators should not be moving.

have the snubber ring replaced
the reason i say HAVE IT REPLACED is to get to the snubber ring the machine has to be dissasembled and requires special tool to get it apart and back together

The stem is bent or fractured or the bearing is shot. This is a rebuild job for a techo.

Laars lite 2 heater direct ignition problem

sounds like the controller (board/coils) that send voltage to the heat coil is acting up.trace the wire from the heat coil back to the component.make sure the ground wire (green) is grounded to a clean surface.

The machine sounds as if it might be unsteady. If it only happens on the spin it is probably slight. Try levelling it at the feet, using a spirit level helps enormously to get it level.

This model of washer does not have an out of balance cut off switch. If the load is not balanced properly the tub could hit the cabinet sides. If the unit spins evenly while empty & out of balance while loaded, I recommend checking & balancing the load. If the basket spins out of balance while empty, I recommend having the suspension springs & balance ring checked. Be sure not to wash light fabric with heavy fabric clothes. Also ensure that the adjustable feet are level, that's most important.

I assume it is a top load model. In which case the back does not come off. Some recent models had a problem with the inner tub (balancing ring on the top of it) going out of balance, and even coming loose from the basket drive. You will need the Whirlpool spanner wrench to remove the tub, or at least tighten the spanner nut if it has come loose. This means removing the case completely. I have only on one occasion seen the tension spring (from transmission to rear of case) break. More than likely it is the inner tub.

The washing machine makes loud banging noises when its running.

Either the machine is not balancing correctly or something mechanical has broken. If it works fine when empty then it is a balancing issue. If it does this even when empty then something has broken that supports the tub.
