I found this. It is a water supply issue

The washer is now fixed. It appears the controls froze up and locked themselves for whatever reason. Here is what I did:
I located the mini manual inside the washer, and got the instructions to get the washer into service mode. I did have to unlock the controls as it appeared they locked themselves when they froze up. I pushed the buttons and turned the dials as instructed to get the controls in service mode, which seemed to work fine.
I ran through all the diagnostics, found no issues or error codes, or anything else unusual.
When I exited service mode, the controls reset and worked normally. So no bad circuit board, no visit from the appliance tech required. Maybe you could use my experience to help the next guy.
Sort of guessing at the make and model of your mystery appliance, but the videos and articles may help
