I have a Westinghouse Dw46f1y1 tv had a job work on it and when I got it back now when it turns on it say element not Westinghouse and it's upside down and the color is way off only board I can tell they messed with is the T-Con board. Would that board cause this?

Your TV might of had died on you guys and has stopped working too. Or it could be a power supply problems. It would be more cheaper to purchase another TV than to try and repair the current TV that is no longer working.

I saw this fix posted on another blog by a fellow named Patrick. I tried it today and it it worked. It fixed my Westinghouse lvm-37w1. Basically disassemble the back of the TV (removing all the screws on the edges and middle). Remove screws holding bottom speaker and stand. There are 2 chrome rods extending down. There are small screws inside holding them on. You can turn the rods and unscrew the screws but need a small screw driver to put them back on. Remove the black cover on the back. remove the plates on the lower middle section. You will expose a printed circuit card. unplug wires and unscrew 4 screws holding it in. Remove it, turn it upside down and inspect the solder joints near the lower middle (especially under the gray relay on the other side). I found 4 solder joints that were cracked. Resolder the larger solder joints that are cracked or look bad (small solder joints are too delicate). Put it back to gether and it should work now. Mine works great. No more black screen with no sound.

Hi I have a Westinghouse PAK806. The oven works fine, heat and fan, but none of the plates will turn on.
Any ideas?

There is a method called a Power Scan this method allows you to search for all possible codes. Try this until you reach a code that carries all of the functions desired. If the TV mode button starts flashing rapidly during this process you have exhausted all possible codes.
Power Scan
1.) Hold down the clear "TV" button on the remote for four seconds, then press 500 pound ( #)
2.) Hold down the clear "TV" button on the remote for four seconds, press the big power button once.
3.) Press the channel up button once per second until the TV turns off then press pound (#).

Power Scan:
1. Hold down the Clear TV button until all lights at the top of the remote light up
2. Press the red TV POWER button
3. Press and release the up arrow on the remote about once a second until the tv turns off.
4. When it turns off, press the # (Pound) button
5. Try powering the tv on/off, and try the volume. If one or more of these functions do not work, start over at step 1 again.

The heating element, located behind the back plate of the freezer, is probably not working. A failed heating element leads to a build up of ice around the evaporator coils in the rear of the freezer. If the back plate of the freezer is removed (ONLY DO THIS WITH THE APPLIANCE UNPLUGGED FROM THE POWER SUPPLY) and there is a large build up of ice around the evaporator coils then it's a fairly good indication that the heating element is not working. The heating element comes on periodically to defrost/de-ice the evaporator coils. Heating element is often activated by a small timer switch which turns the heater on for a set time every 24 hrs or so. Heating element may be open circuit or timer switch may not be operating. Most likely to be open circuit heating element.

your T-con board is failing you need a tech to replace it about a 150 dollar job

Turn power off this avoids water solinoid valve opening.
Locate the filter housing righthand side under master mind control panel on topshelf next.
Remove light cover by pushing bottom rear up and gently pullout.
Unscrew filter cover looks like upside down juicer.There should have been a special white plastic spanner which came with the refrigerator.
Pull filter element down.
Install new element by firmly pushing up.
Screw filter cover in gently don't over tighten.
Turn power on and operate water dispenser to remove air and check for leaks
